RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman didn't seem impressed with an apology from Kaela Carpenter, wife of Buffalo Bills kicker Dan Carpenter, over her tweet during Monday's night game that Sherman should be castrated.

"It's not surprising at all," Sherman said Wednesday. "This is a day and age, you've got the Ku Klux Klan running around. People say whatever they want, and there's very little consequence. For her to say something like that and then have a B.S. apology like she did, it's just the way of the world. I don't let it bother me. It's something I'm very used to. It's just the way people are, the way people were raised."

Kaela Carpenter tweeted Monday night that Sherman should be castrated for a hit on her husband during a field goal attempt. Sherman's reaction on Twitter on Tuesday morning seemed to laugh it off.

"It's more disappointing than anything," Sherman said Wednesday. "But it's also something that's understandable. Ignorance has always been in this world. The core of this country has been built off of slavery and people owning people. So any time you understand that's the core principles of the way the nation is built, then you've got to have some kind of sympathy for it."

Sherman, who has two children, was asked if he has to shield his family from any of the comments he gets on social media.

"My son's too young to understand it, but I don't shield myself from it," Sherman said. "I'm sure if she came up, trying to execute the actions that she said she would, I'm sure my family would have something to say about that."

The KKK must have the greatest marketing campaign of all time. You never actually see any of them, yet somehow hear about them all the time.

It should be insulting to educated black folk that the media pimps this guy as some kind of intellectual titan.

Did everyone in the U.S. in the late 18th and early to mid 19th centuries own slaves?

I haven't and I've lived in South Louisiana my whole life.

Where's this KKK running around? The only thing I've seen is supporters of BLM targeting LEOS, rioting in cities, harassing civilians and now a bunch of spooled snowflakes can't accept the results of an election. As for as speech is concerned , looks like dipshit is all for it so long as he agrees with it.

He's talking about the KKK and slavery... did I get into a time machine and end up in the 1800's?

LOL, what planet does this dude live on. The only people that don't have to be concerned about what they say are SJW Liberals. Anyone that's conservative at all has to think 5 times about what comes out of their mouths. Then it still gets misconstrued as racist, sexist or discriminatory.

You can't see them because they're running around, and they're really, really fast.

Does anyone else not see this as a big deal? The dude cheapshotted her husband and could have hurt his livelihood. As a wife, she is expected to fly off the handle a little bit. Players say 10x worse shite during games when they are emotional, Sherman included

Apparently they were driving through Mizzou's campus in the midst of a massive leftist protest, packed arse to ankles in their pickup trucks, tossing bricks into dormitory windows. They are Johnny on the spot and always make their escape without being caught on camera.

Dem boys is good.

I only read the excerpt, but where did he relate any of that to Trump or the presidency?

It has been a thing on my facebook for my black friends to say they are the true Egyptians, and they are the original kings and queens. I see these articles posted daily. Do they not know how fricking egypt was built?
