Are these guys better than Ole Miss on offense? Is anyone here actually sold on this BAMA offense? Can someone explain to me what defense they've played that would be considered talented or solid? Texas A&M's soft, Chavis defense that gave up 600+ yards to Tennessee? Am I supposed to believe these guys have faced ANYONE with a respectable defense? Can someone lay the facts and numbers in front of us to prove that this offense isn't fools gold?

Containing Hurts should be #1 on the to do list. The kid can't throw a pass accurately over 10 yards. How does Aranda prep for this sideline to sideline aerial attack?

Spare me the ridiculous argument "They face the best defense in practice every week. " Garbage response. They face scout team players portraying the upcoming opponents

Yes.....they can.

The real question is who is better at chess? Aranda or Kiffin?

Bama is certainly more balanced and will test LSU's middle.

probably not on paper, but I'd say the Bama offense's strength is a better match up against our D than Ole Miss'

And when we play Good defenses this year, we've played like shite on offense. Bama is Bama, they'll be ready to play. Sorry I don't let my fandom get in the way of realism. Not saying we are gonna lose but Bama is gonna score more than 21 points. I'd say anywhere from 24-38 at the most.

Ole Myth's running offense is Chad Kelly scrambling.

Bama's rushing offense is considerably more developed. Considerably.

I hope Aranda has a designated spy on Hurts and he gets the Deondre Francois treatment every play.

Do I think they can? Yes, but has nothing to do with their offense. It's their defense that is opportunistic. Their D has scored quite a bit this year and they've given the offense a short field. I don't think Bama's offense will put up more than 3 scores, unless their D continues to get turnovers. I don't think either team scores more than 30 points.

LSU must avoid turnovers giving them short fields and scoring opportunities. If LSU can make them drive the long field, they have a shot. You have to assume Alabama will get at least three cracks in the red zone...LSU must stiffen in the red zone against the short passing game. I feel best scenario, LSU holds them to 16 points.

Ole Miss' offensive philosophy is high-risk, high-reward. They let Kelley be a gunslinger. When he's on, he's unstoppable because as Dan Marino said, "There is no defense for the perfect pass."

Saban's offensive philosophy is built around his defense. Play safe, ball control. Control down and distance. Move the chains, and give your playmakers the opportunity to make an explosive play. Let the D suffocate the opponent, and score on a short field. When the opponent panics, they'll make a mistake and a loss turns into a blowout.

'Bama's offense is not to be feared like Ole Miss, but they are more than capable of scoring in bunches, especially if they are allowed to play on a short field against a worn down defense.

They can and will score 21 points. The good thing is that our offense will be able too as well, unlike previous years. I think our linebacker play will be a huge asset for us. Last year they were exposed.

If they do, LSU's odds of winning begin to drop. I think all of your points are good ones.

They certainly can. I'm noting you said Bama and not just 'Bama's offense', but both can.

The #1 reason I say that is if the offense can't stay on the field, defense will get wore out. We've all seen this.

#2 would be we have somewhat of a history of blown coverages. So a trick play or blown coverage could be the lagniappe that gets them to 21 or more. Is Hurts good enough to recognize it? I'm less worried than with other QBs. But, it's like terrorism... they only have to be right once, our DBs have to be right every time.

#3 The defensive or S/Teams TD. No need to explain.

Gotta force the Frosh into making mistakes.

This Bama team reminds me of LSU 2011 in that special teams and defense score a lot or put the offense on a short field.

Forcing the frosh QB to make mistakes and not committing any turnovers will be the key to LSU winning.

To play off of that...

Kelly's strength was throwing the ball and able to run it. LSU shut down the passing game and took his running game out of the plan.

Now Hurts has an issue with intermediate throws and deep passes. Terribly inaccurate down the field.

Who's to say they can neitralize and take Hurts out of his comfort zone and the zone read. Do they go one dimensional and hope for the best?

Hell yeah. Do what they did to us with BH...make him beat you passing. I like our chances in that environment with our secondary and Arden key.
