She's a much better cook than I am

I have never dated a girl who cooks as well as I can.

Me. My wife's knowledge of cooking prior to us dating/marrying was limited to a microwave and maybe a frozen pizza. She now can cook many things that I've taught her, but she still doesn't grill or fry anything.

I am, I do 99% of the cooking. She makes oil and garlic for pasta and she is in charge of chicken parm

My wife can grill like a boss. When we lived in a FEMA camper after Katrina she'd cook complete meals on our Webber. She was pregnant at the time and HUNGRY. She won't bbq, but she can grill.

We each have things that we are good at cooking. I'd say we're even.

Wife cooks red beans and rice like her mom taught her and it is usually very good. She also bakes cakes, pies, cupcakes, etc. I do the salads, grilling, frying, and gumbos. We both usually make our own breakfasts. So it is about even.

I cook better
My wife was raised and taught by a single mom from South Georgia who doesn't know the proper way to use seasoning and trinity.
She can cook generic things like hamburger steaks, mashed potatoes, tacos, etc.
But when it comes to cooking things like Etouffee, gumbo, sauce piquant, bisque, and rice and gravy without using a McCormick packet, she stays out the way and let's me handle it.

My wife typically handles the veggies and sides while I do the meat/entrée. She didn't cook before dating me or even eat a lot of variety outside of meat, corn, and potatoes. Now she eats almost anything, and she has learned to cook almost everything I can, I've even taught her how to make sauces like hollandaise and béarnaise. I'm pretty proud of how far she has come in expanding her diet and her range of cooking

We both agree that it's me.

I think my cooking is in the top 3 reasons for her marrying me.
Hers, on the other hand, would be a top 3 reason for divorce if she ever decided to cook more often.

Depends on what it is.. generally speaking, my SO says I am the better cook. I have a better grasp on seasonings and figuring out what to add to stuff if we feel like it's missing something, and I am better at just throwing random things together and making it taste good. But she is a sauce and dip master.. and I can't cook fish to save my life.

This is us too. My wife likes seasoning but is so afraid of overseasoning that most of what she does is under seasoned. Also, I enjoy cooking and she sees it as a chore, so it works out.

Wait a sec. Lemme calm down.
OK, where do I start? My wife is not capable of pouring a glass of Crystal Lite. My dogs follow her around the kitchen to lick up the spilled liquid. I keep 409 on the counter. That is the limit of her cooking abilities.
OTOH, my first wife was no better. She could bake something she called Banana Bread. The problem? She didn't like Banana Bread and neither did I, so she just baked it, put it the fridge and one month later I'd throw it out.
40 years of marriage to women who were incapable of boiling an egg. It's been a trip.

I am the better cook. She can bake her arse off though and has some great handed down recipe's for baking.

I feel like that is where I am as well. Mine doesn't mind breaking out the stand mixer and a ton of ingredients to fly out of it and all over the counters and stove. But the end product is grand. I'm not patient enough to measure everything specifically for baked goods.
She's also great at casseroles and the basics. But when it comes to anything related to meat other than browning it in a pan, that falls to me. I don't even think she has ever lit the grill, and that is for charcoal or gas.

My wife will tell you that I'm a much better cook than her. She cooks because she has to, I cook because I like to. Shes a much cleaner cook than me though. I seen her take the fire off, move a pot, clean the stove then go back to cooking.

My husband can not cook one single food item.

No contest. Me. But he cleans, so I'm not trading him in.
