It's about to get REAL ugly in Austin.

I don't see how Strong makes it to the end of the season.
Horns are 3-4. Just lost to KSU 24-21. Reporters and fans are saying the coaches have lost the team. Rumors of dissension in the locker room, listless practices and poor effort are rampant. General consensus is the coaching staff knows they are gone after the season and the players know it as well.
Well, here is what the next 3 weeks have in store for them.
Baylor is undefeated, playing with a chip on its shoulder and playing for a BCS invite. The coaches are coaching for their jobs next year, building their resumes.
Texas Tech just hung 59 on Oklahoma (in a loss) and set an all time NCAA passing yardage record. They lead the nation in passing offense.
WVU runs an up tempo, high powered offense (just like Baylor and TT) and loves to score. They are also undefeated and looking for a BCS bid.
All three schools have more than enough reason to put a beat down on Texas. (Recruiting, beating the "hated Longhorns," in addition to what I mentioned above.)
Seriously, Texas could give up 200+ points in the next three games.

The loss also moved the Horns to 0-15 under Strong when trailing by 14 points. Texas hosts No. 8 Baylor this week, travels to Texas Tech next week and hosts No. 10 West Virginia the following week.

They better not miss on their next coaching hire.

I watched almost all of the K State game on Saturday and Texas was surprisingly bad. Tons of stupid flags (think they had about 4 on the first drive alone on defense), a glaring lack of playmakers on defense and what appears to be an allergy to throwing the ball over the middle of the field on offense.

Chris Peterson would be a great "safe" hire.

Chris Peterson

He definitely would, but iirc he is in Washington partly because of the specialty treatments his son gets at a hospital there. Someone may expound more on that.

heard that too, i don't know any details but i do know Texas usually has top of the notch medical facilities as well.

It must suck to be a Texas fan. They absolutely needed to fire Brown. And Strong was a pretty good hire. And now, they absolutely need to fire him because it isn't working out.
The bigger issue is that, unless they get extremely lucky, they are gonna have a tough time landing a great coach. I can't see many big name coaches lining up to take over this dumpster fire.

Most of the fans don't want who they want anyway.

His youngest son had health issues when he was much younger (part of the reason Peterson took so long to make the move). The kid is fully healthy now though. The move to Washington was about professional opportunity - no health factors were or needed to be considered.

No he wouldn't. He held out at Boise for so long specifically so he could coach at Washington. He contacted them about the job, not the other way around.

No, it is still an attractive job.
The problem is Charlie's disaster proves a Texas head coach has to be a better politician than a coach, and every candidate they will consider aren't great politicians themselves.
I hope they keep not figuring it out. Hell Mack was a perfect fit and he wasn't their first choice. They refuse to admit their needs are real.
Honestly a guy like Les would kill there.

His players know he's gone so they don't care anymore. Expect another 2 losses, maybe more.
