I think Fla will be able to handle this one. They are a bigger state with much more resources
They are not coming to BR just so you wont have to travel

Cat 5? You might be just a little off.

we moved the arizona state game to arizona, we rescheduled our second game for later in the season, and we moved the tennessee game to a monday night on sept 26, a month after katrina hit

Category 5s?
It took us three weeks for us to host a game after a catergory 3 went 110 miles to the east of us

So, you double-downed on your previous erroneous response in a previous thread and made a whole new post on it?
Katrina made landfall on 8/29 as a Cat 3. We moved our home opener to Arizona to play Arizona State 10+ days after Katrina hit.
Rita made landfall on 9/24 as a Cat 3 at the Texas/Louisiana border ~160 miles from LSU. LSU moved that game to 9/26.
Hurricane Matthew is currently projected to pass 75 miles within Gainesville (and projected to be a Cat 3), and possibly closer if it shifts to the west more. The latest models did show a westerly shift.

First of all your post is not factual. The last cat 5 cane to hit the US was Andrew, prior to that is was Camille in 1969.

The issue is Gainesville is going to be more affected than BR was. When a campus is evacuated and they still plan to have a game then something is wrong. And that is the case here.

You didn't do your research.

uh, nope

Katrina rapidly intensified after entering the Gulf, growing from a Category 3 hurricane to a Category 5 hurricane in just nine hours.

Rita maintained Category 5 hurricane intensity for 18 hours

OP needs to check what really happened. His "facts" are slightly skewed.

We didn't play it the day after Katrina and Baton Rouge was a lot further away from Rita than Gainesville is from this one.

You have no idea what CAT this storm will be, even if it hits Fla. Everyone is bitching because it was up to CAT 4, but Katrina and Rita both reached CAT 5, and we still played the game in BR

Rita hit west of Lake Charles. Delayed the Tennessee game until a Monday. Not a good comparison.
