Some coaches don't like to coach in the NFL. Meyer is a great coach but he didn't go to the NFL, not like Saban.

Jimbo has proven he can run a major program and win a NC.
Herman has not.
Can you afford to roll the dice is the question?

& he said it kinda matter of factly, leads me to believe that he knows it's a done deal already. I hope it is!

Petrino hung 63 points on Fisher. Herman got 38 points last year. Fisher is overrated. Herman has more upside potential.

So by this logic the pick is Petrino??

Raise your hand if you led a team to a NC as the Head Coach....
Jimbo - "Right here."

Its not that hard to figure out that Jimbo IS the PICK... Just pony up the dough and move on LSU.... The dude will come with the right offer... Could Herman do just as good as Fisher??? We may never know... BUT this is A HUGE HIRE for LSU and Fisher is the safest choice... PAY THE MAN.............

Jimbo also isn't playing against Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida either. Don't get me wrong I like Jimbo. He could also easily have lost that national championship to Auburn - when they were down like 20 points, and he also had a Heisman QB, and he could be 1-2 this year also. I just think Herman would be better
Didn't Au beat bama and ole miss that year? Hasn't jimbo beat Florida several times since he's been there?

Herbstreit is a scholar and a gentleman

Herman was the answer last year as well and would have been easier to land. You snooze, you lose.

Here's the full quote -

The guy I think is a perfect fit, because I know him on a personal level, is Tom Herman. Right now, he’s the flavor of the month, because of the offense, and because of what he’s done at Houston last year, culminating with win over Florida State in the Peach Bowl – and then coming back this year, with Greg Ward, and everybody expecting “OK, now we know about Houston, they’re not going to surprise anybody, now we’ll see how they do” – and they smack Oklahoma to the side, and they’re looking at a playoff run possibly with Louisville at the end of the year, if they can win the American.
So he’s very busy, and I don’t know if he’s going to be interested in leaving Houston, but if I were in charge of LSU, that’s the only call I would make. I would talk to his agent, find out if he is interested, and find out what it takes to bring him into Baton Rouge – because I think not only is he the right fit, he’s young…you can build your program around him and all of his intangibles. He would basically bring the Urban Meyer blueprint that he took to Houston, he would take that into Baton Rouge, and it would be absolutely frightening with the recruiting base and the resources that they have in Baton Rouge. They might need to upgrade some facilities, but I still think what they have there with the tradition, and what they have as a recruiting base, if Tom Herman goes to LSU, look out.

Jimbo and his pro-style shite would get arse-raped by Bama. Just like every other pro-style offense on planet earth.
This also concerns me with Jimbo.

The last time Kirk talked about a coaching change matter of factly was 9 years ago, and the coach he spoke of just got fired from the school this past Sunday that he was matter of factly leaving 9 years ago.

LSU, with a pro style offense, has been the most competitive with Bama over the last decade of any team in the country. Yeah the last 4 years we got the L, but 2 of those could have just as easily been W's
it wasnt the offense that made those games competitive
