Herbstreit says the only call he'd make would be Tom Herman

Was on Finebaum. Says he's the perfect fit. Said you could build the program around him and use the Meyer blueprint in Baton Rouge and it'd be freightening. Said if he goes to LSU, then lookout.

Herbstreit has been a laughing stock concerning this whole deal.

& he said it kinda matter of factly, leads me to believe that he knows it's a done deal already. I hope it is!

Sounds like a good plan but it's not the sure thing he makes it sound like. Herbie has his OSU glasses on a little bit

I think Jimbo's a literal perfect fit here in all phases but Herman has more room for growth because he's only like 40. You could have him here for 15 years if it works out..but no matter what anyone says he's still somewhat unseasoned as a head coach.

If he'd been at Houston for 5 years, he'd be the guy. As it is I think they're going to do what it takes to get Jimbo and then worry about who comes next if he just will not take the job.

Herman is the man. I sure hope the administration knows it. Unless someone like Texas fires Strong and comes in and outbids LSU, LSU should offer Herman 5 yr./$27.5. Jimbo would be a nice second choice from Herman. Jimbo has done well at Florida state, but I believe that LSU is ready for a young coach who hasn't been through the program. Jimbo has done well but hasn't done great. Why not go all in on the next hottest coach and buy in to what he is running. Best scenario for LSU is to have success with Orgeron go 6-2 the rest of the way out and quite the Herman talk til December but keep in contact.

Jimbo has won 75% of his games and a national title. He's done phenomenal work at Florida State and that's with a school that refuses to pay assistant coaches anything but bargain bin prices.

Some people don't realize this if FSU payed what LSU did for coordinators his staff would be a lot better than it is.

The anti-Jimbo crowd is just weird.

I'd like for LSU to get both camps ( Jimbo and Herman) on a conference call and start at 4 million and start going up a little at a time.

First one to say "I'll take it" gets that contract and the job.

I'd be thrilled with either.

Jimbo and his pro-style shite would get arse-raped by Bama. Just like every other pro-style offense on planet earth.

Look at the teams that beat Bama over the years and do the damn math. Hopefully the search committee has more brains then you.
