Verons used to be awesome before they sold out the company to someone else. Still decent but nowhere near how it was when they were making it in Lutcher.

How does Teets match up with Conecuh, for those that have tried both?
Manda isn't in the same ballpark

The Veron's Sausage you buy at the store in Lutcher is pretty damn good.

It's one of the 8-10 small meat markets in the Ville Platte area. It's good, much better than most others from outside the area which is why a lot of people like it, but I don't think it's the best in Ville Platte. Just as good or better is Paul's Meat Market, B&S Meat Market, Shop's, & T-Boys in Mamou. Ville Platte area smoked meats are different from anywhere else along with their boudin. I know the guy who supplies seasonings & casings to most of the Acadiana area & he says the Ville Platte meat markets spice packs & casing grade is different than anywhere else he sells to.

Rabideaux's
I work in Baton Rouge area and I'm fortunate to work with people who live in Rabideaux country. I get it delivered as much as possible.
The smoked deer and pork does wonders in a gumbo!

Johnson is good but damn high as eagle pussy.

Rabideaux's hands down ....Teets is good but not on that level. Marandas is kinda like the Vienna sausage of smoked sausages.

If you want a deer sausage that you can find in (some) stores and is consistently good then go with Rabideauxs. They have a store in Iowa just east of Lake Charles and are sold in krogers and market baskets so there isn't really any around Baton Rouge that I know of but I just know to bring an ice chest and stock up when I go near there.

Did Vine's flood back in August?

it's available online, i would strongly advice trying all of their smoked products. I'll never buy any other smoked meats that's for sure. They deliver so here you go

Teets is out of Ville Platte. When I lived in Lafayette for three years, i would go home and buy boxes of sausage to keep at my place in lafayette. At the time, they didn't ship their product which they do now. If i ever move away, i'll gladly pay the extra to have it shipped. Again, Teets smoked meats are lights out but i'll say the boudin is average at best(in my opinion) but the smoked meats cant be beat.

i wouldn't give my biggest enemy Richard's sausage to cook with, just my opinion

Born and raised here, which it sounds like you are as well. It's the smoked meat capitol of the world no doubt but i've had all the locals and Teets is the most consistent and outperforms as far as sausage.
if we're talking boudin, T-Boys NO DOUBT. It's the absolute best which i believe has been confirmed MULTIPLE times at cook offs in lafayette.
