and amazingly stupid call. How can some of you not see how close we came to losing?

The to top it off the idiot doesn't go for 2 and we could have lost with a kr for a td. You pay coaches to think about shite like this.

I was a freshman in the stands and we went ape shite. Fortunately there were similar finishes throughout the year, and that was the best football season of my life.

I remember after that play the announcer kept going on and on about how if that pass fell incomplete we lose. Even though there was a second left on the clock.

Actually there was 4 seconds left on the clock when Byrd made the reception. Had it fallen incomplete they would likely have set the clock to at least 3 seconds.

Yeh I just don't get it. Once again we were very slow getting play call in from sideline and NOTHING has changed since then

the call was fine, Flynn made a bad throw though that worked out

the call was throw to the back corner of the endzone where only we could catch it and if incomplete we kick FG

I was there but in the opposite end zone amongst the Aubbies.

As it was going down I was like WTF and there was a bit of delay between the catch and the crowd reaction so for a second or two I had no idea Byrd caught the ball.

The disappointment on the faces of the Aubbies was fantastic.

I snuck into the student section around the 3rd quarter and found a spot about 10 rows up. Watched it happen right in front of me. One of my best memories.

And Flynn is back to throw!

This, for me, is one of those "NO! NO! NO! NO! OOooooohhhhhh....yeah!!!!!! Whooooooo!" type plays.

I hated the call at the time. I wanted to kick it. Not because I was worried about the time, but because I saw the kick as the safest bet. Flynn could have been sacked which could have taken us out of FG range, could have thrown the pick...which is STILL amazing it wasn't picked off, etc.

Yep...loved the outcome, but to this day when they do the 4th Quarter plays to start each 4th Quarter and they show this play, I look down into that corner and shake my head and smile remembering how my emotions ran from being mad to happy and then with the guys that have sat next to us since 2001 watching me shake my head in disbelief while being excited we had just won.

Got him back a few weeks ago for Tre's punt return as he was screaming NO over and over as he took it backwards 20 yards before turning up field to score!! Took nearly 10 years but I was vindicated!

Man, I want THAT Les Miles back. Keep Herman if we get the risky Miles back that wasn't scared to throw it every now and again.

That Miles made for some very fun football games.

I still don't understand how that ball got past Auburn's DB.

DB didn't turn his head to find the ball. If he does that, we are likely singing a MUCH different tune about this game.

I was at that game in the east uppers too and remember it so well, the emotions I went through in 10 seconds was something I'll never forget.

Living in DFW, I don't get to go to many games and I am so glad I was at this one.

My emotions went like this:

-Furious
when they broke the huddle and lined up with 15 sec or so left and I'm not believing that they aren't snapping the ball immediately. My anger increases up until 10 sec left and they snap the ball. You could feel the stadium get real uneasy before the snap.

-Fear
The ball snapped with 10 sec left and I saw Byrd streaking to the EZ and Flynn eyeing him. I thought this is the last play of the game.

-Joy
When I saw Byrd make the catch and there was pandemonium for about a minute.

-Disbelief
10 seconds after the catch and I realized there were 2 seconds left. I was yelling what were they thinking.

I've never had so many extreme emotions in the span of 20 seconds.
