The State Bar Association has a fund to compensate people who are stiffed by a deplorable lawyer like this one. Report your claim, but be prepared to wait. The process can be lengthy. Good luck

Yes. A bunch of lawyers will sit around and decide the fate of one of their buddies. It is just like the police investigating the police and we know how the OT feels on that subject.
