Lynch: If you’re not a racist, you shouldn't be offended by Kaepernick's actions

Marshawn Lynch may rarely speak to media — NFL media, at least — but he is a pronounced social advocate. He helps run a foundation, Fam 1st Family, that empowers underprivileged Bay Area youth, and has done hands on philanthropic work in his hometown of Oakland and abroad.
So, it’s not surprising that he was willing to speak up about Colin Kaepernick’s weekly protest of the pregame national anthem. Lynch went on Conan on Tuesday and gave an open and candid response in support of his fellow Bay Area resident and former rival. (Transcript below).
"I’d rather see him take a knee than stand up, put his hands up, and get murdered. So, I mean, my take on it is [expletive]’s got to start somewhere, and if that was the starting point — I just hope people open up their eyes to see there’s really a problem going on, and something needs to be done for it to stop. And I mean, if you’re really not racist, then you’re going to see what he’s done, what he’s doing, [not] as a threat to America, but just addressing a problem that we have."

Im just generally offended by logical fallacies and nonfactual claims. This is no different.

What he (Kaep) is doing is further fueling up more racial divide.. so I don't like it..
Lynch is an idiot FWIW.
Any ways, I wish Kaep would just get ignored here on out.. and any others.. I was fine with the backlash.. well-deserved.. but now they should lose their attention.

In a nutshell, this is what is wrong with the way people "communicate" today - we don't have any interest in a different opinion. Any opinion that varies with our own is evidence of evil or bad intentions.

I don't think Lynch is seeing straight on this topic.

He needs to go back to keeping his mouth shut

Now we are getting more feedback to feed the faux outrage.
This is the most overblown non-story.
If an athlete just said: "If you're American, you shouldn't be offended" - we could all move on. Let him have his protest like many Americans before him all the way back to the beginning...
I don't understand what one person does or doesn't do...can make people so angry?

okay. maybe there is a problem going and something needs to be done. but WHAT IN THE frick does that have to do with the flag that represents our country? What's your suggestion on a solution, besides kneeling your privileged arse kneeling for 2 minutes before a football game?
why can't they do like the rest of those soo butthurt right now and cry about it on social media. leave our country's flag and the nation's patriotism out of it.

ok so you've all addressed there's a problem.....fine. What types of solutions to the problem are being offered up?

Not sure this is the method to do this.. It's disrespectful, but it's his right.. so whatever.
Being turned off by it has nothing to do with race.

If you came across this guy in your daily life, would you hold his opinions valuable?:
The guy played football. If he wasn't good at football, what do you think he'd be doing?
Why anybody gives two shits about his opinion on anything baffles me.

Racial divide only comes when one side doesn't have the humility or empathy to listen and admit that their actions, laws, and decisions have disproportionately oppressed the other side.
How can you constantly victims blame a group you have suppressed for over 200 years, in the face facts and history? At some point it gets sociopathic, especially the excuses made for why their lives shouldn't be treated with the same respects as yours

Unfortunately, I think that is a two way street. BLM should have recalled the lessons of the civil rights movement and made their verbiage and their comparisons on the basis of civil rights, not black rights. The first is inarguable, the second is not morally inclusive. You win the argument with civil rights as your calling cry, you immediately cause a backlash with the special category of black rights.
