The game, by time and by RULE was over. The rule may be poorly written but the way it is written is how we must accept it.
Like I said, I can live with them changing it because of the letter of the law. My point is that if they DON'T change it, OSU doesn't deserve much sympathy.
To me this is much different than the 5 downs thing. Last play of the game, up by 3, OSU has the ball and commits a blatant penalty. The penalty is accepted, OSU turns the ball over on downs, and they win? Nah, no love lost here.

No.
Did Mizzou get the victory after Colorado got a fifth down to end the game?

Different deal that has been discussed. Try to focus.

Absolutely not. Half of that loss is on the Oklahoma St coaching staff not knowing the rules themselves

I've seen it. I don't care that there were technically 2 seconds left on the clock and Mizzou was on the 1. It's not a different deal. In both scenarios neither team should've been awarded the down that allowed them to score with no time remaining.

No. What happens on the field stands.
This seems to be the precedent established for all sports. CMU won on the field, they celebrated, it was over. It sucks hard-core for Okie State, but wouldn't reversing the outcome seem like a hollow victory for the Cowboys. The refs should have known the rule and not awarded the play. But, I agree that the rule as written goes against the spirit of competition. You shouldn't be rewarded for committing a penalty. Seems like a loophole that should be corrected in the offseason. No excusing the blown call, though--I just don't think you can go around changing outcomes the day after.
But why didn't Gundy have his QB run around a bit and take a knee? I'm not sure I've ever seen anybody just chunk it out of bounds like that.

Agreed. If they still become a legit Big XII and playoff contender, the committee will judge this result appropriately.
I mean, they should've won by 30, but whatever

I'm not sure what your point is.
If Oklahoma State is a playoff contender come November, the committee will still know they struggled in this game, even if the refs didn't screw them. The Pokes need to hope CMU becomes a factor in the MAC.
Hence the committee will judge this result appropriately.

My point is that the committee will see that they struggled and "lost" at home against a team they should've blown the frick out. So we agree.
They won't be in that position at the end of the season anyways, so it's a pointless discussion

I don't expect them to be either.
I was mostly agreeing with the comment that the committee knows what's up. In the unlikely event that OK State is in the discussion, this game will get more scrutiny either way.

They should really just vacate the whole damn game.

I think the committee will take it into account just like the Heisman voters did with Fournette and the McNeese game.

Colorado should have never split the natty based on 5 downs
I know players from the CU team that were very close with the refs and the refs families. Just saying....

Sure, in this "every body gets a trophy" society, give both teams a W just to be fair...

They absolutely knew the rules. That's why they did what they did. It seems to me that they knew the rule better than the refs did.
Do you really think Gundy told his quarterback to go out there and intentionally throw the ball away without knowing this?

This is not far removed from a team who has the batter go up to bat with untied shoes in hopes that the time runs out while they're fricking around.
