*Bayou Paul update. Not confirmed per any news source.
We are evacuating. I talked to one of our neighbors is/was a state rep. who's been on the phone with Mitch Ourso. As long as the current flooding stays consistent we will be fine. But there is a chance that the locks that separate Bayou Manchac and Alligator Bayou/Spanish Lake might fail.
If that happens I expect to see bad flooding for the Bayou Paul area.
I do not know if this means anything for the UClub.

My moms house is next to wards creek. I can confirm it is still rising as well.

I'm just a little skeptical because claycut bayou is falling which is just north of ward creek
Most other reports show water receding in areas south of ward creek
And his point of reference is a stick
But that's just my opinion

Water on 931 in galvez definitely still flowing backwards. Trying to find somewhere to launch

Claycut is back fed by Amite - Ward is by Manchac, which is still rising over the interstate.

EBR Schools are closed until further notice. Husband is a teacher and just got text about it.

Can you provide a little more information as to why?Would this be to allow water levels to continue to go down? I'm concerned about the rain making travel more difficult as the week goes on.

story relayed in prairieville, nat'l guard evacuating people, wouldn't allow them to take their dog.

Even if you can get to where you are going, it will be a nightmare. And that's assuming you're not heading to a place that may be dry now and under water tomorrow

Definitely yes still flooded

I have no problems with that. They need to take care of people first.

Many people forgot to turn off their ACs before leaving and returning to find fried circuit boards and seized up compressor as the water flooded about 6"

I agree. If there's limited room on a boat/truck, you have to leave animals behind
Posted on 8/15/16 at 11:30 am to Chad504boy
I suspect that has been the case numerous times. I've seen several Facebook posts of people finding pets on air mattresses. Figured folks tried to evacuate with them and couldn't.
