Anyways, I hope UM finds a good coach, someone who could right the ship and bring back some of your mojo.

Thanks but the jury is still out.

Grobe is a good fit for the Big 10. And, anyone who can recruit enough kids to win a conference title (even the ACC) at WAKE FREAKIN FOREST is a good coach.

56 years old? who cares?

Bobby Bowden is pushing 80.

I think Grobe would be a very good hire for Michigan. Wake is a small school, is a tough sell in recruiting for many of the athletes a top program is seeking, and has pretty strict academics. To do as well as he has there suggests to me he will do very well at Michigan.

Many Terp fans would be pleased to have him leave the ACC, not out of animus, but simply recognizing that he is a formidable adversary.

All I knew about the situation was that Schiano had been made an official offer and he declined.

Really?

I was under the strong impression that Schiano originally accepted the offer, then backed out.

Look at my signature!!!

How can you argue against all these accolades

Southern University has won five conference titles under Richardson, including back-to-back-to-back crowns in 1997, '98 and '99; and the 2003 SWAC Championship, put the Jags and Richardson back into the football fray, as Black College National Champions, all while posting a 105-38 overall mark under Richardson's guise. His 105 wins ranks him second in SU's history, trailing only the legendary, A.W. Mumford

Richardson's honors include being named the Black Coaches Association's Coach of the Year in 1998, five-time SWAC Coach of the Year (1995, '97, '98, '99 and `03), Atlanta's 100% Wrong Club's Coach of the Year (1995, '97, '98, '99 and `03), Washington D.C.'s Pigskin Club's Coach of the Year (1995, '98 and `03), the Kodak Region IV Coach of the Year (1995) and the Sheridan Broadcasting Network's Coach of the Year (1997 & 2003). Richardson's also had the distinction of being named the 1999 Nokia Sugar Bowl Louisiana Coach of the Year.

I am in Detroit this weekend and a sports show on the radio - a caller insisted Miles would be here on January 8th. He said he did the same thing at Oklahoma State and that he is just lying right now. Until Michigan does hire a coach Les will be in the picture.

Once again, folks are rewriting history. All they need to do is go back and read the contemporaneous news reports of Miles' hire by LSU. He did not do the same thing at OSU. But if ill-informed, ignorant people keep spouting this, a lot of folks will think it is true. It isn't.

Just heard it here in NC on local sports talk. Saying they don't think Grobe will take the Michigan job.

But you could probably get this coach out of N.C.

The Panthers will be whacking him soon.
