You are retarded if you believe that.

Put that in your pipe & smoke it. We need tougher gun laws in America. And I'm a conservative. (Reagan wanted tougher gun laws too)

Whatever you're smoking probably came out of the back of a van that reaked of gasoline fumes.

You don't pull a gun to scare people. Carrying a gun is not a game. It's a huge responsibility. You've got to make split second decisions in very tense situations. Think about it....if we're in the grocery store and someone goes postal, I've got to decide quickly to either get my arse out of there or stand in front of you and your family and take the chance of dying. Which would you rather?

I'm not keeping my gun in the holster and waiting for someone to draw down on me. If it's out, someone is getting shot

What gun laws would you enact? Can you show us where a gun law was enacted and the violent crime rate was reduced? The national science foundation did a study and couldnt find one gun law that helped to lower crime rates. The opposite was shown to be effective in Kennesaw ga, where families were required to own a firearm in the house. If you look at the US as a whole, were 3rd in murder rate in the world, if you take chicago, detroit, washington dc and new orleans rates out of the US total were 4th from the bottom. What do these places have in common? They have the strictest gun laws in the country, and have been under democratic "leadership" for the past 50 years.

I don't own a gun, not because of any belief or anti gun sentiment, just don't have a need for one

And no I haven't been put in any situation where I would have felt safer if I had one.

New Orleans doesn't have strict gun laws baw. We get to shoot at the dome for New Years.

I understand the point you're trying to make, but you cannot compare Kennesaw, GA to Chicago, Detroit, and D.C. To do a comparison regarding gun violence, you need a control and two different strategies. Those must be in very similar cities.

I wasnt trying to compare cities, just stating that no gun law enacted so far was found to have lowered violent crime rates, while there was a law enacted promoting gun ownership that was shown to lower violent crime rates.

Do visit the Outdoor Board. Every type of gun owner is there and can help you out.

Correct. There is no correlation between stricter gun laws and reduced violent crime. When those strict laws are enacted in cities, the violent crime rate data mirrors the rest of the country without bans or new laws

Just re-read the census to make sure I was correct. I misspoke but here are the numbers from 2010.

Homeowners with a gun are 80% more likely to KILL themselves with the gun than they are to kill someone else with it. (Suicide rise in America)

Ronald Reagan wanted stricter gun laws on assault rifles. Look it up if you don't believe me.

I think the only time I will ever get a gun is if I inherit the two from my dad. If that happens, then I'll just give them to my sister.

The DOJ ready did a study showing 2.5 million defensive uses. Most defensive gun use doesn't involve killing the assailant. DR keck had some thing except his numbers came out to 4 million.

If they are desperate enough to break into my house, then I'll gladly give them what they want. May even throw in a bag of Doritos. The insurance guy could come out the next day.

What if they want your wife and daughter?

I'm not chastising you. I'm just saying it is something to think about

You have a strange view of a criminal. You going to sing kumbaya together around a campfire before they leave as well?

funny how these studies include suicides to get the result they are looking for. Let me guess you are reading medical journals like BamaATL?

Are you a BamaATL alter?

I don't have either. Wouldn't mind getting married someday but I don't ever want to have children
