Umm because it's obviously all on film. My attorney would subpoena the video. Case closed Johnson....

I'm wondering why we never see videos of blacks being treated badly WHILE complying fully with the officers. If I saw that, my views might change. This country has a much bigger "cops are assholes" problems than it has a "cops are racist" problem. As someone else said, the cops were aggressive but not unlawful. But according to Bill O'Reilly, blacks commit homicides at 12x the rate of blacks and hispanics combined. So the cops every every common sense right to approach "black" situations differently and on edge.

I don't trust anyone blindly, and I'm not a police bootlicker like you mistakenly think.

I give people and police the respect they deserve. I'm a polite person until I've been disrespected.

Like I said earlier, this would never, ever happen to me. And not because I'm white, but because I'm not a dumbass and know better than to resist arrest.

Some people, like the dumbass in the video do not.

Yeah, I've seen that video before.

Thank God he wasn't killed and I hope he got a huge settlement from the state. And that dumbass cop should do some jail time and never be allowed to be a LEO ever again.

But once again, this goes back to the crime stats. Cops deal with violent young black men alot in their job, and it makes them jumpy. There was a study that concluded that black police officers were inclined to shoot a black man even quicker than white officers.

It's not racism, it's experience and fear.

Guy reaching for his wallet....after being clearly told to get out of the car. Constitutes failure to comply and resisting. The cause of all latest police problems with perps.

When he reached instead of getting out of the car.....would have easily constituted a good shoot.

He's lucky to be alive.

More thug BS nothing new to see.

I would have reacted the same way

That was absolute bullshite

I would not have. I would have stood up, turned around and put my hands on the car in order for them to properly identify. Once they identify me due to my driver's license, they would realize they have the wrong suspect. Yes, it's that easy. Let the officers secure you or even cuff you if that helps, but let them id you.

"He says his name twice". so what. produce id. Guess what sheeple... people lie to the police.

The police are the professionals here, all they had to do were to show their warrant and ask for id, they did neither.

they don't have to show the warrant at that time. They are required to show it in a "reasonable amount of time". They usually show it once the scene is secure. They can actually show the warrant at the police station if they wanted to but its not recommended.

There is a of information out there that destroys the racial narrative of BLM and the white SJWs.

For instance, 78% of suspects killed by black officers were...black.

Black people are probably more likely to be racially profiled than white people, but studies have shown that cops actually are more reluctant to shoot black suspects than white.

what is reasonable and no mention of asking for id. When is it reasonable to do that?

it's subjective. usually once the subject is secure and the scene is safe.

yeah, the id should have been the first thing to get. When? Immediately if subject is compliant.

Unless you have the actual numbers percentage in this case may not show the whole picture.

Can't find the one on black officers, but I found this one. I was listening to the radio the other day and they were talking about a study which found that police were more hesitant to shoot an armed black than an armed white subject. They then mentioned another study that found that black officers shot armed black subjects quicker than white officers.

One study

The last paragraph in the article by a white cop is very telling.
quote:

James cited one of Klinger’s interviews from 2004, where an officer said that, “The press always plays up the racial angle on shootings around here, and that used to affect my thinking about things.” The officer recounted a time where a black suspect was menacing others with a rifle, and the officer repeatedly warned the man to put down his gun or he would shoot the man in the back. “The whole time I was telling him I was going to shoot him, I was thinking, ‘They’ll crucify me on the news tomorrow if I shoot this black guy in the back.’”

The sjws and blm whiners will ignore facts and when pressed claim bias or outright lies on these statistics. You know this already though.

thanks, saved for my late nite reading list.
I'll leave you with one of the quotes from the comment section.

"tests using police simulators" ? I find it highly unlikely real world scenarios can be simulated..

He plead guilty.. Then a year later him and his wife were busted for shoplifting. It amazes me that some seem to put so much trust in the police and approve of them taking on the roll of judge/juror/executioner.

There are a lot of similarities in this case and Patrick's. Especially when both cops lied after fact to justify their criminal behavior.
