It doesn't make sense only makes matters worse. Most TPOS don't have a career/job or legitimate kids to worry about, like law abiding citizens.

Dude was a piece of shite career criminal, which seems to be a trend in most of all these incidents, they likely don't think highly of someone that keeps sending them to jail for being the pieces of shite they are

Most "resisting arrest" charges are a result of insubordination, not actually resisting arrest.

sometimes they aren't resisting, you just think they are because the cops are yelling "stop resisting" as they beat the shite out of them.
