you could delete Finn from the plot entirely, give his story to dameron, and have a better movie. actor notwithstanding his character was just in the way

As for Sam, I agree that there won't be a NW anymore. There likely won't be a lot of things anymore, including Sam (though I think he lives because he's basically young GRRM), so we'll have to wait and see.

I can't wait for a Davos and Dany scene. I'm guessing Davos and Brienne are going to be part of a peace envoy to negotiate on behalf of the Starks. Davos may be one of the few people that will be able to talk to Dany in such a way to gain her respect (like he did with Lady Mormont). I can't wait to hear him maneuver the conversation. Hopefully Tyrion is there as well. I'd really love to hear and Davos and Tyrion conversation.
I also read where Jon and Theon will meet somewhere south (not in the North). So I'm guessing Davos and Brienne will be the initial envoy to prep the way for Jon to make his way to meet Dany.

Yeah, don't know why there'd be two envoys. Theon seems to be the obvious choice for Dany to send to Jon. I mean he saved Sansa, they know he didn't kill his brothers, and he was brutally tortured by Ramsay. Don't know what he'd have to fear.
I do want a Theon and Jon reunion in both the show and the books though.

I honestly have no clue where the story this season is going to lead, but I'm looking forward to it. I was able to predict a lot of last season's events a lot better than what will happen this season.

My prediction right now is the first half of the season will be Dany vs Cersei & Euron; and Jon/Sansa vs LF and Jon either trying to convince the North about the White Walkers, or at least trying to prep the North for the coming battle. I think when Jon hears that Dany has waged war on Cersei with 3 dragons, he'll try to convince the Northern lords and Sansa that they need to make a treaty with her because he needs her dragons and army for the war to come (and this may be the crack LF tries to exploit)
Then the second half will be Jon and Dany coming together. I think the season will end with the Wall coming down, and Dany and Jon uniting.
Since this is Game of Thrones there will probably be some crazy twists, so it may not go down exactly like that, but I think that could be the general direction of next season. That's just my guess.

I hope Jon gives the Umber's lands to the Wildlings. They deserve it.
How big is the Lannister army? 30,000? They are now without allies, though. It will be funny if Cersai has sent them against the North when Dany lands.

I'd imagine it's smaller than that now. They had heavy casualties during the War of the Five Kings. The Tyrells and Freys are gone. Only the Westerlands serve them, so they're screwed.

I think Cersei will align with Euron, so it will be the Lannisters and the Iron Islands against Dany, the Tyrells, the Martells, and the few Greyjoys that sided with Theon & Yara.

I've always hoped she is trying to intimidate Jon and everyone with the dragons, and Jon walks up and those frickers bow to him. At least be social like they were with Tyrion. No one got to see how they were with Tyrion either.

I do agree that they will align with Cersei, though, and possibly use the dragon horn to take control of Dany's dragons.
