They are familiar with their yard and know what they can't get to. It's a preference.

To mulch up the clippings from weed eating.

I would ask my lawn guy, but I don't speak Spanish.

What is the reason not too?

If I happen to be the weedeater and my wife is the mower that week I do it because I know where to weedeat.

What kind of question is this?

why weed eat? Spray weed killer every two months. Much better, easier. Prettier with the contrast of green and brown too.

I trim first, then my mower can bag the trimmings as I pass close to the fence/drive/flower beds.

When you trim first it cuts a wider path which then allows you to mow less and you don't have to maneuver the mower around as many obstacles.

Makes cutting along the fenceline, flower beds, and around trees much easier.

It's the proper way to do lawncare. Do you not read your owner's manual?

Because they don't make riding weedeaters.

I always edge and trim first. When I mow all the dirt and clippings get mulched and shot into the yard, and I don't have to come back around with the blower. Work smart not hard cap.
