The tale of two tragedies; Orlando and Istanbul

It's interesting how the two events are seen in the media even though both had roughly the same number of victims.
Orlando 49 killed and 53 wounded
Istanbul 43 killed (so far) and 93 wounded
Orlando is covered as a lone wolf, anti gay and the shooter is not really portrayed as being particularly smart or well trained. His credit to Isis is kind of sloughed off.
Istanbul on the other hand is covered as being well planned, well rehearsed and all orchestrated by Isis who sent these guys in to Turkey and with people in Turkey enabling the ruthless attack. Weapons and guns had to be smuggled in and the three attackers had to be sheltered and fed for roughly a month.
In the US the politics of the tragedy drove the coverage while in Turkey it seems at least initially the level of planning and sophistication and the widespread Isis network is getting most of the play.
It's as if some here in the US will not admit what we are up against and these tragedies at Fort Hood, in Boston, in California and now Orlando are all related in some way shape or form.

Are you saying that there are no differences between the two?

No he is pointing out the media bias, idiot.

That's not what he's say at all, jack arse. He's saying the most important similarity is psychopathic Islamic fundamentalism as the root cause.

Calm the frick down, pussy.

The guy in Orlando had no communication with ISIS. He just watched their videos online. Also, he was born and raised in the US and didn’t come from over there.
The Turkey guys were sent across the border from ISIS into Istanbul to carry out planned joint attacks financed and orchestrated by ISIS directly.
I can see the difference.

Fair point; however, I've never been to the Vatican, yet I am Catholic.

Are you saying there is no difference in media coverage from US to international?

I understand what he's saying.
It pissed me off to see the media and the govt spinning Orlando as something other than terrorism but, it can be argued that there are a few "x factors" in Orlando.
The attack in Turkey, a known hotbed for this kind of stuff, is a bit more cut and dry. I don't think they've proven Mateen was ever affiliated with ISIS, just "inspired". The attackers in Turkey are almost 100% guaranteed to be ISIS.

well of course
we do have an election coming up and both sides love a good tragedy to push their agendas

How can you be 100% certain of this?

I mean it's because everyone in America is pussies. If you don't mourn for two weeks then it means you never cared about whatever ethnic or gender group was included in the victims and you become a racist.
People would rather light candles in front of a building then actually go and do something.

Yes, I lean right. That guy is exactly what's wrong with people discussing politics. He's always right and there can be no dissent. He's really no different that the loons on the extreme left.

There was no evidence of it...
Which I guess you could believe that our government is hiding that from us, but then I don't know why they would release 911 tape where he pledged alliance with ISIS

I don't see this as media bias at all. I think it points to the facts that have so far been uncovered in the 2 cases.
I don't recall the media saying that the Orlando shooting was not well planned, what they have said is that it was not planned by ISIS directly. Which according to the evidence so far is true. Mateen acted alone with inspiration from ISIS, but the attack in Istanbul seems at this point to be the work of ISIS operatives with direct links and on the orders and planning of ISIS leadership.
If you can't see the difference in the two events, then you aren't paying attention to the details close enough.

Why the frick does this designation even matter?

Orlando = 1 American perpetrator
Istanbul = 3? perpetrators
I think this is your difference.
