Giroud looks like he's doing fine after the injury scare. Iwobi with a good (deflected) goal.

Relief. Just seems every time one of our guys goes off with a slight limp, it's a long term injury.

Real solid defensively today. I though Ramsey put in a good performance today. Much less sideways and back passing. Iwobi was a real threat. Hope Giroud's ankle is ok.

Too bad mahrez and slimani are in Africa. Could use at least a draw from Leicester today.

I couldn't hear the commentary but what the hell was Alexis' problem on the bench?
Posted on 1/14/17 at 11:31 am to etm512
Commentators said he looked like he didn't want to come out (duh) but they said he should get over it. That it's a team sport and you're 4-0 up, you've already got your goal.
Which is absolutely right. Alexis is an amazing player but man sometimes his attitude really gets in the way. Ozil didn't seem to have a problem coming off, why is Alexis getting so upset over letting a guy get his first minutes since May?

I am not a big Arsene fan, but sometimes he can't win for losing. He leaves Ozil and Alexis on, then he is (rightfully) criticized for overworking them and leaving them exhausted for big matches.
He takes them off and the players get mad. I know Alexis wants the goal-scoring lead, but a world-class team should have enough depth to put in quality reserves in a blowout.
Thankfully, we do right now at forward. You can never have enough quality players. It looked like we were stacked to the hilt in the midfield, and now we are woefully short with our usual injury bug.
But yes, Alexis needs to get over it.

I think yall may be overreacting about Sanchez. He is the type to wear his heart on his sleeve. This isn't the first time he was upset at the time of being subbed. He's not really mad. Sanchez just wants to play every minute of every game. It's what helps make him such a great player. His drive is ridiculous. Messi has the exact same mentality.

He was fantastic. Really fantastic. Good to see him back to that form.
I do love, though, how he always misplaces a pass in the first 10 minutes out for a throw. It's like he has to do it to get kicked into gear.

He wanted to play all 90. I agree he can be a little overboard with his frustration, but I'd much rather a guy in that mold than one who doesn't care.
It's what makes Alexis great and it's just a two-sided coin.

I don't know, he still goes all Hollywood and gives the ball away. Never question his effort though.
Iwobi was fantastic today. Going in harder on challenges, winning headers in the middle of the field. Really worked that left side.

Thought he had a rough first half, but really grew in to the game.

I'm going to the Londoner in Dallas to watch the game this weekend, never been and hope it doesn't suck.

Confirmation bias. He completed 86 percent of his passes and was dispossessed once.
He tries shite, and when it doesn't come off it looks bad, as opposed to playing a sideways pass. When it comes off, it kills opponents.
We don't score the opener without his run and cross into Giroud, who should have finished initially. We don't score the second without his touch into Iwobi's feet.
He won three tackles and had two interceptions, the most defensive contributions from anyone in the midfield, and covered the most ground of any Arsenal player in any match all season. He was really, really good against Swansea and adds a dynamism to our team that's missing when Coquelin's in that position. And I love me some Coq.

Pretty good Saturday for Arsenal. Rooney with a wonder goal at the death to grab a point for United was a bummer. City and Spurs both drop points. I don't know which team will be the bigger threat going forward so I feel a draw was solid. Spurs had been on a great run, whereas City had been struggling hence their positions in the table.
None of this matters much in the title race unfortunately. Hopefully Chelsea drop points tomorrow, but I doubt it.

It's still important Arsenal don't drop points before Chelsea. I don't know if they have it in them to catch Chelsea. But the race for top 4 will be close.
And don't forget, Liverpool hit a bump today as well.

Just getting within arms reach is a plus here. Don't forget, Chelsea get Liverpool then Arsenal in a span of five days coming up. Time to make up some ground.

A win tomorrow and Chelsea dropping points would be fantastic. I'll take just the win if nothing else.

Is a must, so is Tuesday. I think we thrash Burnley tomorrow.
