I am starting to look for a 25 foot bay boat which I will be purchasing some time next year. I really like the Contender 25 bay. Bents marine has one with a verado 350hp on it. I went there this past weekend to look at it but they didnt seem to helpful, which i really can somewhat understand being they had the boat listed at 110k and maybe thought I wasnt serious. Any other brands I should look at? Would it be worth going through a dealer in another state instead of Bents?

For 9k more you can get this sucker and spend the weekends out on the islands. Add in another 1k and you put a Kayak on there and hit the skinny water.

If you want to piss away 110k on a boat at least move up in style

$110,000 for a bay boat?! I hate to break it to you but bay boats costing over 100K have been around for several years. Most are fully custom boat builders.

If your budget is 100K plus, top tier bay boats to consider

Fiberglass Sheaffer, Gause, Barker, Avenger 25 Custom Bay Boat by Marauder Marine "there are two different boats called an Avenger", Calcutta 26, Young Boats works

Aluminum: There are two Gravois family members who make aluminum bay boats, one in Jeanerette/Franklin “Metal Shark” and one in Thibodeaux “American Aluminum Marine”. Both of these aluminum boats are a thing of beauty.

Most of the above listed are considered a Hybrid bay boat. They have floor space all the way to the transom, a smaller casting deck on the bow and just a bit more of gunnel height.

These features allow you to fish near offshore when the weather is good.

Tidewater Boats just came out with a 25 ft custom, and it is a fine boat. Got a chance to look at one out a couple weeks ago and would highly recommend checking it out.

If I was looking at a $110k boat and they didn't want to help, I'd tell them to frick off and spend my money elsewhere.

Why would one spend $110k on a bay boat?

Really, I fish out of a 23 ft. Gravois more than anything and that bitch will put a beatdown on you in rough water.

The upkeep on one of those things is very expensive. As in thousands of dollars a month expensive. You can't exactly drag it over to david wade marine to have the steering replaced.
