24' playtime 1985
trailer looks suspect to say the least, i'll have to get this thing home to hammond from MS gulf coast. anyone ever seen a set-up like that? it looks like the deck is just sitting on the trailer frame
any thoughts as to how stupid it would be to try and trailer it home? obviously i'd need to rework the trailer eventually, or get a new one
price on this thing is right though

I've been tentatively looking for a beat up pontoon boat to convert into a kayak mother ship.
Do you mind me asking how much you paid?
ETA: And holy shite that "trailer" looks dangerous.

I have never seen anything like that before.
I would pull it in the middle of the night when there is no traffic for it to hit when it inevitably comes off of the trailer.

Stripper pole looks a bit small but got to start somewhere.

I would worry it might crack the deck if you hit a bump and it was just metal on metal.

That would make one hell of a floating duck blind.

I see it's in the Pass. He says the trailer is in good shape, so yea, he's definitely high.

why can't you go to Gulfport first and get the trailer?

Unless I'm missing something, the trailer looks to be relatively new, it's just not built for a pontoon boat. Maybe you can sell the trailer to help pay for the new one.

The trailer frame look pretty good from what you can see of it. But I would be worried about the tires and bearings.
Here's some pics of another boat with that style trailer, it does look like it's carried by the deck.

That is how the trailers were designed for those boats. My neighbor recently picked up an old one and his trailer is just like that. My big concern was if you ever caught a flat on both tires on one side is that you'd be dragging the pontoons on the highway. I'm assuming that's why pontoon trailers were redesigned.

because they cant fit the trailer to the boat w/o the boat. theres no way i'm trailering that thing around (especially to where it needs to go in south TX) with that existing trailer set-up. i'll feel better and will still be way under budget with the new trailer
anyone want to buy the old trailer?

Thats awesome, I always thought it would be cool to take one and completely enclose it, and then put a lift on the top to hoist 2 1448 aluminum skiffs that would fit on top.
Use it as a home base when bouncing from marsh to marsh.
