PETA doesn't think like you do. They will insist Mike VI got cancer from living in the cage.
That's because PETA is full of a bunch of misinformed hippies that don't know shite about animals.

So, we've got PETA et al telling us we are treating the animal cruelly.
And, we've got others here yelling that we are lavishing far too much attention and resources on a mere animal...
Sounds to me like we are handling it just about right...
Admittedly, I wish we all had complete access to healthcare like Mike does.

Who is paying for Mike's treatment? Would have been nice if instead of shelling out all of that money on him, they donated it to children's cancer treatments.
All tx cost donated. Tx by volunteers.
You shouldn't jump to conclusions before getting the facts. Treatment done while faculty closed.

I hate to see an animal suffer, but that's a lot of resources that could be spent on a human frickin being.
So you've already been taken to task by many on this thread, so I'll just state for the record that I agree with every one of them. fricking jackass.
ETA: airfernando, GeauxxxTigers23, uway, and tiger1014 really can all get together and DIAFF!!!

Goddamn, if you really want to know the answer to this question, how about reading one of the articles that have been linked all over this forum?

And you. You really are an ignorant frick aren't you?

The only way it isn't a waste is if we are learning something about treating cancer in people.
Have you not been reading the thread before posting your idiotic crap?

This is why poor people vote for universal health care. Don't tell me my grandma can't get treatment when you're giving it to a cat
So SICK of this kind of crap. You stupid motherfrickers apparently have no idea that poor people absolutely already have access to healthcare that won't cost them one penny if they're not able to pay. And they have since long before Obama got into office. This country is overrun with ignoramuses like yourself and that's why we have this whole "Free healthcare" movement that has become so deeply rooted.
ETA: Fine uway. Go ahead and downvote. Do you not have a reply?

What's the record for down votes? I think that's the most I've ever seen.

Oh it's 1,000+. Happened fairly recently too. Can't remember the content though.
ETA: Oh yeah I do. It was the guy who said the rally possum thing should end.
Second ETA: Here it is for a good laugh. 1,266. Poor guy had to come back to recant.

When that goof said the Rally Possum needs to go away. Got something like 1200 down votes. Well deserved IMO

I never clicked on that thread BC of the title. Would have been one more down vote if I had.

You really haven't researched what is exactly happening here, have you? This is a rare form of cancer. This is an opportunity to try treatment on a beloved animal which, if it works, will save or prolong the lives of HUMANS! Or, maybe you'd prefer we test unproven treatments on humans? Where to hell do you think treatments for humans come from? Testing on animals!
This and one of the first articles on Mike's cancer and treatment explained how the treatment may help in research for treatment on humans. There are so many ignorant idiots in this thread that it amazes me that you people can express a legible thought, though some of you clearly cannot. The dumbassery is amazing.
Mike is getting free treatment which will help in learning more about how this treatment works on this form of rare cancer whether it be in an animal or a human. Read and learn if your feeble small minds can process such information. Geez....

FIGHT LIKE THE TIGER YOU ARE MIKE, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!
Posted on 5/29/16 at 7:54 pm to dagotiger
Even if it did cost $30,000 and pushed back treatment of a human, what a bunch of hypocrites. If you are truly concerned about people receiving adequate cancer treatment you should trade in your F150 for a used Corolla, cancel your vacation, cancel cable, stop playing golf, buy your clothes at Goodwill, etc, etc. and donate the savings to cancer research and treatment. Talk about hollow indignation.
But these are all really trolls, right?

Also I hope anyone concerned about money and resources "wasted" on Mike have the same mentality towards athletic upgrades to facilities that cost millions because " that money could be helping people." If not then you are clearly picking and choosing what you care about.

Am I the only one who saw the picture and asked myself, "who is that beautiful red-haired creature on the left in that photo?"

PETA has no interest at all in Mike. They would prefer that he die of cancer or starvation in the wild (where he doesn't belong). Mike is only a symbol to them to publicize their stance on "animal rights." Mike's right to live in the wild has been violated in their view, even though he would not exist in the wild as a hybrid and was bred in captivity, and even though tigers in the wild may be headed for extinction. Presumably they would take the same stance on the Arkansas pig, Auburn's eagle, Colorado's buffalo, etc.
