What are some names that are realistic options for Baylor to bring in?

Probably an interim for the year, no? Would be tough getting a good coach at this point.

I would imagine if they don't promote within, it'll be a bible beating straight line walking coach. I know the Baylor alumni hates this mess

Their first call should be Tom Herman.

Phillip Montgomery at Tulsa after the season ends if they feel like they can, since he was a Briles assistant. If not it will be someone like Dino Babers

If the overall culture of the program is what got Briles fired, then how can you promote from within that same culture?

I can't take personal credit for this suggestion, but it's a good one:

Mike Singletary

Baylor grad, coaching experience, hard nosed, currently unemployed.

First requirement: how blind, deaf, and dumb can you be to rape allegations.

Second: how far will you run from a competitive schedule.

Would promoting his son as interim look bad?

Herman is going to be a popular name but I highly doubt he takes it if offered.
