Swype doesn't work that well for me. My thumb takes up 1/3 of the screen, so I guess it fricks it up. I think the first "smart" phone was a Palm

A friend of mine got a RAZR when they first came out, when they were $700. I was so jealous. A few months later they dropped the price to like $200 and that's when everyone and their mom got one. I went through about 4 of the black one then moved on to the little-known KRZR. To this day the KRZR is still my favorite phone. I almost bought one on Amazon for a burner phone before I realized I have no need for a burner phone.

I was going to say that's a great commercial, but too much of a tease without showing the new phone at the end. Boo

I had this phone. It somehow broke in two after an LSU football loss.

Dude T9 predict text ftw. I could type fast as hell and send texts without even looking at my phone, which was great for texting and driving

ftw, now my phone is a piece of shite when it comes to auto text. You dont save anytime imo with the new phones.

I loved my RAZR and subsequent SLVR, but I couldn’t go back to it now. I use Spotify, online banking, Gmail, Google, ESPN, Instagram and Google Maps too much.

of course, it was a middle school status symbol

this is what should separate this millennial crap with another gen.

real millennials didn't have cell phones in high school or middle school.

in fact yall can have the millennial tag. I'm gonna go off the grid soon for being lumped with this group.

That was the whole point of the commercial...to tease. Now it has started a conversation on here and I'm sure many other places as well. Highly effective, IMO, as it's created buzz and curiosity.

I loved my Razr and just that time period in-general...I want to go back now

My boss was obsessed with the blackberry Pearl and was buying several off of ebay, using them as long as he possibly could. I think they basically discontinue service on them after a while. As soon as he got his iphone, he became Apple fanboy #1.

Nextel push to talk was also an interesting era.

I worked for pipeline company that used those as work phones. We used to call it No-tel. Couldn't get a signal for shite outside the city.

Was the blackberry more "advanced" than the Razr? I remember getting a blackberry several months before the iphone was released. Then when I got rid of the blackberry I got my first iphone.. My first iphone was the 3rd one released (iphone 3?).

If I recall this was my first cell phone.

About 3 or 4 yrs ago a buddy of mine, who isn't the most technology advanced person still had this phone. For some reason I never really noticed until one day we went somewhere together and he answered his phone and I noticed the antenna. That was a heavy phone compared to the weight of the phones today. I will say this, those phones do get good reception.
