As tantalizing as Ben Simmons is, I just don't see it.

I think, for us, Ingram is the complete answer. It's no secret we haven't seen production at the 3 since Peja. And that's still a bit of a stretch.

Also, put me on record saying Giannis (Greek Freak) has a better career than Ben Simmons. "Hard work beats talent when talent ain't working hard," and that kid works hard.

If he plays the 3, I would be all in for Ingram too.

Ben gotta be willing to put in the work. Hopefully if we did draft him AD wouldn't let him get away with half assing it like he did at LSU at times.

Discussing Ben Simmons on an LSU message board website is just a disaster zone. It's not as close as it sounds in the media imo. Tons of smoke screen as always around this time of year. Simmons is the first pick overall, and a year under CJFJ isn't changing that.

I don't know how Simmons career plays out, but I wouldn't want to be the GM that passed on him.

I am sure he will be successful but watching him this past season was underwhelming. He seemed overhyped a bit. Hopefully he will be a star but I have some doubts as to him being the next superstar.

Simmons will be the first pick regardless of who gets it. I think the Simmons/Ingram debate is mostly media manufactured to drum up interest. Simmons is pretty unique.

You have to go Ben Simmons. Jesus, just thinking about Simmons and Davis is fantastic but I'd also look to see what you could get in a trade for the pick. I've heard rumbling of Paul George being available and that would be fantastic.

Simmons is the better all around player imo, but its not a big margin. Ingram is the better fit for this team, however.

Tough call.

I don't think there is any way that the Pels draft Bender. Even if they get the third pick. If the Pels are at 6 and he drops to them, they'll trade it (probably for an oft injured point guard ).

Honestly, I think Davis would be the perfect player for Simmons to grow with. He's young enough for Simmons to have some common ground, but he's also established as the man. Basically, Simmons would come in as second fiddle and have to work to catch up. That's a great motivator.

The problem at LSU is that he wasn't answerable to anyone and was clearly the best guy on the court the day he showed up.

And LSU, no offense, seems to have shite show basketball program right now that couldn't get players to play for the team and some questionable things on the coaching side.

Simmons chooses Kentucky, Kansas, or North Carolina or any other prestigious program that has showcased talent well over LSU and Ingram would be an after thought. It would be the hype filled lead up to Davis all over again.

Underwhelming, sure, but that's because he was a pussy here. Overhyped? Nah, the talent is clearly there

Simmons hands down for me.

My logic is this

We have arguably the best finisher in the league. AD can hit shots from all over the floor in a variety of ways but struggles to create for himself. We would have the opportunity to put a 1B next to our 1A who's elite skill is passing.

Throughs the leagues history, the best big man had amazing set up men. Kareem had Oscar and Magic, Malone had Stockton, Dirk had Nash and Kidd, etc.

If we have a choice we need our 1B superstar player to be a player that sets up AD for the game winning shots we know he can make, not a player that's gonna take them from him. So that's why I choose Simmons over Ingram.

Why is it that people expect "Heat Era LeBron" development out of a cat one year removed from high school who played for a shitty college coach?
