Rangers are not pussies. Hinch should take notes from them.

Gomez has to go. I can't take watching him play anymore. I've had to dvr every game since about mid April, and the last two weeks I fast forward through every Gomez at bat, no matter the situation. Well now I feel like I can't even risk watching us pitch for fear a ball may be hit to center. May have to just quit watching until he's gone.

I'm surprised Odor didn't have a switchblade in his pocket to pull out and stab Bautista with
Eta: I meant Bautista. Gomez was just in my head cause I want him to get stabbed

CF strategy and defense overall cost the Astros 2 huge games this weekend. Just fricking awful. Relief pitching and simple defensive alignment and execution.

Welp
Good news and bad news
Mariners just got swept by the Angels lol
Which just means we are that close to only being 5 games out instead of 7
Can't get swept in Chicago

Damn dude sounds depressed. For his own sake he does not need to step on the field in minute maid in an Astros uniform. He's mentally broken playing for Houston

Its a shame it hasn't worked out with Gomez. He was a good player a few years back and was fun to watch play. I was excited to get that guy. We didn't.
ETA: I kind of feel bad for him reading those quotes. We know he's a passionate guy and is clearly putting a ton of blame on himself (he's a problem but he hasn't been the only one). He was a good player and has totally fallen off a cliff. But at the same time, we've heard from multiple sources that he has no interest in working on his approach and wants to swing his way out of the slump. His struggles are his own doing.

Luhnow needs to step away from the laptop and realize that it is best for everyone to shop Gomez immediately. Someone will take a flyer on him and throw you a lotto ticket prospect. Just do it.

Yeah he's done mentally, as if he was ever stable to begin with. The whole team needs a reset or just a good little 3-4 streak may be enough to break the ice and get some confidence.

I would think it's better to keep him at this point. Not in the majors of course. I'd rather have a guy who has produced at a high level for a few years than a draft pick.
But...
If that is true, and stays true, then I take back everything I just said.

Surely they aren't calling up Bregman this early? I think it should be Kemp and let him play nearly every day in Lf.
Posted on 5/15/16 at 7:25 pm to Tiger Ryno
Nah it won't be Bregman, Kemp is the most likely option IMO.
Posted on 5/15/16 at 7:27 pm to dhav14
I am on board with calling Bregman up in July if it's clear this season is over. Look how monumental it was for Jackie Bradley Jr to get his feet wet last year while the Red Sox sucked. Let bregs, Reed, Moran, and some of the pitchers have a few months at taking their lumps instead of 2017 where we will be back to having high expectations and won't be able to afford half the lineup experiencing growing pains

I do feel bad for Gomez as frustrating as it is watching him lose games for us. He does care about winning and is very passionate, he's just completely done mentally. He was an MVP candidate a few years ago, crazy to think about how fast he's fallen off
