I have a question for the thread.
Couple years ago I hurt my back and went on a diet to help with the rehab. It worked, but 5 years later I'm back to my old weight.
I have a friend who has had some health issues too and we were talking about doing some sort of keep each other honest diet. I can exercise some and I'm limited due to my injury, he cannot.
Any way to keep track of each other's weigh ins etc that you would recommend?

ate at Birmingham's new food hall today (Eli's Jerusalem Grill) and had lamb/beef/chicken shawarma with couscous/rice, a tomato + cucumber salad and some humus. So worth the few extra carbs I'll have due to it.

4 miles today then cut grass, pulled weeds, and trimmed bushes...
Then went and had a shrimp platter plus 2 pours of Knob Creek, 1 of Old Forrester, and one of Woodford Reserve....

Was bad bad yesterday. Mardi Gras'd too hard.

I'll second the my fitness pal because you can link your profiles with friends. Another stupid, but effective method is to take a picture of your food before you eat it to send to your friends or partner in weight loss. This could be text or Snapchat. There was actually a study done to show this led to weight loss.

Hello All.
I've read through this thread and it seems to be very supportive and full of low-carbers, so I come to you with a question.
My father has Type 2 Diabetes and his A1C numbers continually rise. He is now on metformin and Januvia. He's no sloth either, he walks about 15,000 steps a day doing landscaping and odd jobs on our property.
His issue is snacking. I'm confident he could stop taking at least one of these meds if he made better dietary choices. He loves chips and pie and fruit jams on biscuits and toast.
Do you guys have any recommendations for low-carb snack foods I could buy for him?
Thanks in advance!

Some of my favorite low carb snacks are:
Cello Whisps (good sub for chips LINK )
Macadamia nuts
Blue Diamond almonds (habanero BBQ is a universally liked flavor)
Beef jerky
Olives, cheese, pepperoni, pickles
Cucumber slices & dip
Good luck! It's a tough habit to break.

honestly just tell him if he wants to be there for grandkids and his kids he needs to stop snacking like that. Then put him on steak and eggs twice a day. Vince Gironda steak and eggs diet, google it.

So looks like I might be out of commision for a while, atleast on lower body stuff. Screwed up my ankle pretty bad yesterday loading the toilet on the float. Dont think its broken but still can barely walk.
I will still post a progress picture on saturday but not sure its going to be everything I wanted it to be. The one in July though...well I plan on being below 8%bf. Wanna be magazine cover bodyfat levels for our beach trip mid july.

How are things with you? Still hanging in at work?
I'm tired of maintaining. I'm not catholic, but I'm giving up candy for lent. We always have a ton in the house, and I've been eating it more regularly than I should. I'm not gaining, but I feel a lot fatter in my head when I eat junk.

I'm fine. Still looking around and working on some side stuff.
Gym is fun. Feeling good. Will step on the scale before I leave for Houston on Friday. Hoping to get under my 205 goal.

I decided to give up beer. It's the only thing I truly love.
That, and carbs. Kind of have to give those up anyway.
