Curds......i got the total wine pick and dude .....that thing was HOT. I think it just needs to open up ....i hope at least . Was that one Hot (alcohol) off the top. i know a neck pour usually is like that but i had the regular bottle of full proof and it was awesome. Or maybe i might not like total wine’s pallet

Maybe that or they bought a cheap barrel. I sometimes add a half cube of ice to barrel proof pours as my pallet decides if it wants heat

I generally add ice to BP these days. It could be that they really didn’t care too much what barrel they picked. Maybe just a big operation with no personal care.
Or the one who tasted had a few pours already and his buds were wrecked

Have had some good ones and some stinkers.

Power Blvd Rouses in Metairie has $35 McKenna 10 on the shelf if anyone is interested. I grabbed 2 bottles, but there was still plenty.

Thanks for the tip. I haven’t bought any recently because every place I saw it was asking Dorignac type prices. It’s a good bourbon but part of the reason it’s so good is because it’s $35.

This bottle is priced at what it is. Nothing complex, acetone on the nose, . Palate is corn forward, bit syrupy.
I would not buy this again
But, its a good mixer I would bet. At this price range , Wild Turkey 101 should be the purchase.
