Ok I feel I'm ready to venture out, what is the best whiskey/bourbon in the 50-80 range?

Looked at new Rousses on Airline today, they had a lot in the price but not much I've seen posted

Stagg party tonight
RHF is around $60 when you can find it, and it's fantastic.

Any feedback on Rough Rider?
Tried to search and didn't find anything. Seems pretty good, but have no idea as it was given to me.

A little tasting flight tonight. Had a buddy over who loves good whiskey but rarely has an opportunity to have the good stuff. He preferred the 2015 WLW the best.

Just wanted to show off my modest collection. I've enjoyed this thread and appreciate all the good recommendations. I don't post often but I read the thread everyday, so thanks to everyone who posts regularly.
So far my favorites have been the ETL, Blanton's, and SAOS

I will be in New Orleans this Thursday - Sunday and I will be looking for a bar or bars to have a few shots of the good brown juice. Suggestions please!

Avenue Pub upstairs for selection...upstairs bar (where all the good stuff is) opens at 1pm I think on Fri-Sat I think (Thurs not til 5pm). Your best bet. Barrel Proof isn't far away either.
Cure on Freret has good happy hour ($6 saz's) and a really good selection as well...excellent cocktails here. Bouligny Tavern has a cool vibe too.
Kenton's is another spot uptown to try, though a little pricier.
And if you're downtown there's always Bourbon House for a good selection as well.

Agree with all of the above. I was in Kentons a few weeks ago and they didn't have any BTAC or Pappy behind the bar. I commented something about "man the whole allocation got drained quickly?" And their reply was that they keep all the Pappy and BTAC under the bar so it doesn't get demolished by people who don't care about it.
So I guess the moral is if you go there, ask what they have in hiding.
