If Maineri actually said what is in that tweet, he deserves a code red from the team

Classic Mainieri, throwing players under the bus. While I otherwise like the guy a lot, I truly do hate that quality about him.

I mean he should have had his foot on the bag. Routine play but that wasn't the only thing that lost us the game. That was a huge piece though.

Mainieri is a miserable human being when things don't go his way.

Nice hit and run call in the 1st, Paul.

Yeah the play sucked but he should know a game is more than one play. How about not getting both runners home in the 8th. Had 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. 1 hit from either of next 2 batters ties it.

Also 2 guys had a chance to get Kramer home in the 9th. That is 4 players with a chance to get a hit and tie the game. Never just about one play.

"Alex pitched his heart out. I don't know if he could have pitched much better than that, honestly. He gives up a home run in the first inning, which, you know, you give their kid credit for that. And then we don't play the defense for him like they played for their guy. Basically we lost the game because our first baseman didn't keep his foot on the base on a routine play, on a perfect throw. And that ends up being the winning run."

How about the Friday night started giving up 8 runs and Saturday starter giving up 2. Does Deichmann set the pitching rotation too?

How does this team come out tomorrow and play for him after those comments?

Who writes the lineup card to put a non-first baseman at first base?

He said that play cost them the game, which it sounded like it did. He's blunt and honest.

What little respect I had left for CPM, just went out the window. Stress on how good Lange pitched, but dont throw your kids under the bus.

CPM could learn a few things from Les Miles.

Man I don't know, I think he was just referring to the irony of baseball itself. A play as simple as that could possibly win or lose the game for you.. Something routine that everyone takes for granted

My god this guy makes me sick he's always doing this. Runs us out of inning constantly can't make a lineup doesn't develops mid week starters pulls pitchers at the wrong time and has the nerve to blame a game on players all the time. He's a pos can't wait for him to finish his career here

@JacquesDoucet @geauxMiLB. Mainieri should then take the blame for killing the monument last night after the Duplantis grand slam that out us within one run and put in a suggling freshman pitcher Gilbert instead of his best reliever Hunter Newman.

It sounds bad out of context. What Mainieri was trying to say was about how in a game like this the line between winning and losing is razor thin.

Let's remember.....these guys are COLLEGE PLAYERS, not "PROS".......even the major leaguers make errors......and one play didn't cost us the game......
