My mother died several years back from a very aggressive form of cancer. Can't wait until some scientist figures out a way to beat that bitch into an oblivion.

My dad has fought it off twice ( lung) once at 70 and again at 75 We almost lost him both times. He is 81 now and on oxygen but he's here and that is what matters. Don't give up/ don't ever give up is true

its safe to say your god made cancer since he made everything right?

I watched my grandmother die of brain cancer. That was hard especially seeing how much a person could actually suffer.

To OP:Good luck and do everything you can to be with him. I have no prayers to offer since I dont believe prayer does anything but waste my time. If it actually worked people wouldnt get cancer in the first place.

Bad deal and not much makes it better. Lost my Dad 23 years ago to metastatic liver cancer and fought the prostate cancer battle myself. Hang in there, enjoy as much of the time that is left as you can. No easy answers here.

Would your Dad be willing to go through a clinical trial?? There are new trials constantly popping up nowadays.

Here is a link if you want to give it a read... LINK

I have made it through my most difficult days only because of my faith.
So many people have walked out of my life. But faith got me through, and I pray that the OP finds this kind of faith.

You know what, prayer doesn't always change the outcome of a bad situation.
But it does change me.
It helps me deal with whatever I'm facing.

If not having any type of faith works for you and you're at peace, then good for you. But many of us are trying to offer comfort to the OP for a tough situation, and your response is a bit coldhearted.

I'm sorry you lost your grandmother.

Has he been examined at M.D. Anderson? If not, that would be my recommendation.

Lost mine to cancer almost 3 years ago. It wasn't easy. Spend all the time you can with him. Listen to him. Ask him all the things you want to know about life while he's still lucid. Make sure he's kept comfortable.

Hey look Im gonna sound like a nutjob but take this for what its worth. A close family friend of ours had cancer to the point where they told her there is nothing she could do. She had kids, a husband and was a former nurse. She refused to die, she began a strict regimine of enzymes before every meal, juicing hardcore, and shes alive 10 years later.I know people dont believe in that kinda stuff but I am someone who juices once or twice a day and you wont believe the benefits of carrots, beets, ginger, celery in the battle against not just cancer but disease in general. I know it sounds gross but I have a juice daily with 5 carrots,1 beet, small piece of ginger, 1 green apple,1 celery, and a cucumber and i really havent been sick in years knock on wood and I didnt mention but it actually tastes good.

Dont give up yet man read around, your dad needs to think outside the box here, do the treatments doctors recommend but try some of this juicing stuff, I personally believe it works, I know our family friend wasn't supposed to be alive a decade later and she really opened my eyes to the benefits of not just juice but enzymes.

Best of luck, I hope your dad overcomes it.

This is a good starting place to read about the healing power of vegetables vs cancer.

hormone suppression therapy and steroids should slow the progression and ease the bone pain.
