If you're hitting up the hippy wanna be Festival, make sure you get the fried eggplant topped with crawfish etouffe.

Anybody else have a favorite?

I've never been, so I'm looking forward to it. I don't care about the music, but I love to eat/drink.

It's a good time. And it's free. I try to make it every year.

Curious....Why the hate for this festival? Like someone mentioned, its free (unlike a lot of others this time of year) and you have to admit, its unique. They bring in music that correlates very closely to the name of the festival. Stuff you would likely not hear otherwise.

It's an amazingly well polished festival. I love going even for an afternoon just to bring my young boys and expose them to music the would never hear otherwise. It's free, parking is free, quick transportation into the heart of the festival is free. I feel like I'm ripping the city off by going. Kudos to Lafayette for figuring out how to pull it off so smoothly. It shows the city and the culture well. I don't think you could have anything like it in New Orleans or Baton Rouge.

wife and I have been twice and have enjoyed. plan on attending again this year. most of the food is great and you float from stage to stage till you find something you like. wish they took cash instead of having to buy tickets but oh well.

From where?

My go to dishes every year are Zea's ribs and Antler's crawfish maque choux.

It's fun, we go every year, but I actually find the food offerings fairly uninspiring.

First time I ever had Indian food was at Festival. Pakoras and biryani from Masala. Good stuff. Bon Temps Grill's pork and Steen's sausage on a stick is perfect festival food. Portable and easy to eat.

It's a great festival. It doesn't bring in the big names like jazz fest, but I like it better.

I had the corn maque choux and a meat pie from Antler's.

The maque choux was meh... (canned corn, not fresh).

We also had a burger at Legend's, which was very good.
