Irreconcilable Differences with a gay couple and transgender child. Will be a double feature release with Bruce Jenner as the new Tootsie

It would have to be a PC/Progressive Superman, where the Man of Steel is a Transy.

Jaws or ET, it's coming.
What I don't get is why Holllywood is "running out of ideas" when so many great books are out there that could be movies.

I watched "The Quiet Man" the other day.
While I guess the basic premise could be done, the "domestic violence" in that movie (or McClintock) wouldn't play well.
Sure that the rape scene in Gone With the Wind wouldn't happen or would have a dramatically different outcome

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Johnny Depp as McMurphy
Patricia Arquette as Nurse Racthed
Danny DeVito as Martini (just kidding here. He could still do it.)
Jeremy Davies as Billy
The Rock as Chief
Instead of McMurphy being a normal 60's degenerate, Depp is a 2000's heroin addict who got there after being addicted to prescription pain killers.

This is the complete WRONG answer to the question, as it actually sounds like a good idea for a flick.

I wouldn't mind seeing with modern tech can do it to With the Chariot scene. The first one was better than the second one

Star Wars -- with a female as the lead, an orange ball R2D2, and an ersatz Darth Vader.

Will never get remade.
Society is too PC these days.
There would be riots outside movie theaters.

Jaws
i can only imagine (1) how quickly we see the shark and (2) how much fricking CGI shark we'd get to see for the next 1.75 hours
Stole mine. Pretty much the same reasons. They'd never let a camera just above the waterline and two ominous notes represent the monster anymore.
