Had a vicious calf cramp and the trainer rubbed this blue gel stuff that burned like a bitch on my calf.

I must of rubbed my calf or something during the course of the game because after the first of two free throws I wiped the sweat out of my eyes and DEAR GOD MY EYES ARE ON FIRE!!!

Missed the second free throw and tried to hustle back on defense and ran straight in to and over the scorers table and wiped out the lady running the scoreboard.

Middle school basketball... we won the opening tip and about 5 seconds into the game the ref blows the whistle. I thought he was calling a foul. After he blew the whistle, the assistant coach called me over and told me what play to run or something.

The reason the ref blew the whistle was that he had us facing the wrong direction on the tip... so he stopped play to explain that we were going to be going in the other direction.

However, since I was talking to the coach, I didn't hear what he said.

So I get the inbound pass and I'm like hey, they are giving me an open lay-up like idiots!!! And I layed it up and into the wrong basket.

First time playing golf. Azalea Golf Course in Mobile. My buddy and I went and we hoped it wouldn't be crowded. We get to the first tee and there's a couple guys teeing off and no one behind us.

Before the guys ahead of us finish teeing off, it looked like a damn stampede of golfers coming to play after us. We were going to just let them go ahead, knowing we would be all over the course with bad shots. Greens marshal says 'play in the order you get to the tee'.

My buddy tees off and hits a decent but short drive. I step up(on the range I was crushing it), tee it up and drilled one. I even heard a couple guys comment on how hard I swung. And then it started slicing......

By the time it landed, it was around on the 9th fairway and the guys behind us were cracking up.

High school football coach trying to put his foot in my a$$ while kicking me for playing the wrong technique on a receiver during practice. Everybody had a good laugh. Never got lazy again at practice. That's all I got...

The first time I attempted to slide head first in a live game was memorable. Not only did I not make it to the base by a wide margin but I also slid into the SS's knee and dislocated my shoulder

Playing JR high football. Was an 8th grader starting with all 9th graders and I was playing corner. Last play before halftime the opposing team runs the old halfback sweep pass. Sweep to the outside and the running back pulls up to pass. I bit on it thinking run and receiver runs free downfield. Guy catches the pass but the throw was pretty awful. I catch the guy from behind but as I get my hands on his jersey I stumble and somehow end up dislocating my shoulder. Dude scores as the clock expires. I'm laying on the field, my shoulder on fire and not one player from my team comes over to me. They just walked to the locker room cussing me the whole way I'm sure. Got it back in place during the half thanks to the team chaplain. However, I walked into the locker room with some pissed upperclassmen. Kept my starting spot but never fell for that shite again though.

My other was my Junior season in HS varsity football and we were down big to one of the best schools in conference. I played WR on offense and we went into throw mode to try and make it respectable. After running about 12-15 post, fly, and fade patterns in a row I finally caught one for a TD and our fans cheer. I get to the sideline and puke all over the head coaches leg and foot. "God damnit Hog Zealot we have to stand in that shite". No congrats, or nice catch, way to keep playing, just sheer disappointment.

I was a decent player and made all conference a few times, but I remember those two plays like yesterday. Hell my right shoulder still reminds me of the first one pretty often.

Stealing inbounds pass running down court and dunking . ....

In our goal

i grew up playing baseball and Chris Harris who played for the panthers. he has a twin brother and there were my arch rivals as we always played on different teams. i was pitching in a pretty close game and i swear to god he hit a ball 600 feet. it went over the fense, and was still going up lol, went BEHIND the house that was behind center field and that house was about 50 feet away lol. after the game (a real pony league game) we went over to see just how far the ball went, we estimated it was bout 600 feet'

his brother was the better baseball player, chris obviously the better football player, but was a godo catcher and could obviously hi

I was a youngin. My dad on the 18th green, right next to the clubhouse back porch, while the country club 7th and 8th grade mixer was going on. He offered to let me finish up the hole. Anxious to impress the tween hotties in their sundresses, I took a careful eye on the green, and promptly 5 putted

didn't hit the cut off man in a high school baseball game one time.

we lost as a direct result.

tried to make a tackle by myself on this big running back from Alma Bryant. Got trucked... I was the only player he had to run over/ make miss and he ran all the way for a TD. But I mean at least he was a good player he ended up playing fullback at Auburn a few years later. Brandon Johnson was his name.

This year's softball season. I'm the coach of a bunch of grad students and we've lost like 30-3, 15-1 and 15-0 so far. We have a few people from pakistan, nepal, india on the team that didn't even know what softball was two months ago. One guy kept running all the way to first holding onto the bat . A for effort though

Playing high school baseball. I was batting and the pitcher through a pitch that was way inside. The ball hit my jersey and the ump said take your base. I just stood there ignoring the ump and thinking "bull shite, I don't want to reach base by being hit by a pitch, I want to crank one out of here." So I looked at the ump and said the ball did not hit me. He said ooooook. So I continued the at bat and ended up striking out.

Playing catcher with a full stadium during a pretty big tournament. Blocked a fastball in the dirt that hit me square in the cup with a nice thud and I heard the whole crowd groan. pitcher was throwing mid 90's and pitched in the minors until he blew his arm out. Umpire asked me if I was alright and I just popped up to get the ball like nothing happened. Mid throw back to the pitcher the delayed pain of a nut shot kicked in and the throw didn't make it halfway back to him as I crumbled to the ground. They let me walk it off and go to the dugout to check myself out. My cup was cracked in half

Couple...

*** at VT our intramural basketball team was all of the defensive linemen on the team. We were in the playoffs with about 30 seconds left to go in the game and we were down by 15 so we knew it was over so we just pulled up and I was the pg just dribbling near half court waiting for the clock to run out. Well the guard on other team kept trying to steal the ball and we were like hey, you are up 15 and game is over. Anyways, he steals the ball and takes off, I track him down, he goes up for the layup and my 300 pounds lines him up with my forearm and knock him into the wall and break his arm. I did not look at him, but watched the ball go through the basket and then slammed the ball down as it went in. It took a lot to get out of the situation. I was a young idiot and still get crap about this 25 years later...all deserved

** In a game vs Vanderbilt, I picked up the football which I thought was an incomplete pass, but in fact was a fumble and just laid it down like an idiot and started to walk to the huddle and Vandy got the ball back

5th grade baseball. Got nailed by a pitch. I was shaken. Went to dugout and cried, then later went back out.

Always remember 8th grade basketball. Sat out multi games. Most embarrassing was when my older brother came to our big rivalry game. Sat on the end of the bench the entire game. Hated that feeling.
