A west Alabama school teacher was jailed late Monday on charges of sexual involvement with a student. Charli Jones Parker, 30, was booked into the Pickens County Jail at 11:45 p.m., jail records show. She is being held on a charge of school employee having sex with a student. Parker is on staff at Pickens Academy, a private school in Carrollton. According to the school's website, she is the head coach for the girls' basketball team. She also teaches physical education, computers and elementary school. Her husband is the boys' basketball coach, and also a teacher. Pickens County sheriff's officials said the case is still under investigation and they are not yet releasing any information. Pickens Academy Headmaster Brach White provided this statement to AL.com: "The primary concern of Pickens Academy is the safety of our students, Pickens Academy is very upset about the allegations against our employee. The employee will be suspended immediately and further action may be taken upon investigation. I request prayers for our school family and for all the families involved."
