I always recommend Lacos, but I've never even seen one in person. I'd think the quality would be higher than your other pieces, not the case?

This is only one of two watches I own and I also get lots of compliments on it.

I have an awesome watch and I've never gotten compliments on it. Sad.

I'd never expect to get one, it's generally hidden anyway. If I saw someone with my holy grail watch I wouldn't say anything about it. Even if I ended up talking to them I would never tell them 'nice watch'. They know they have a nice watch.

Mostly just friends who know I'm not a watch guy. Pretty surprised to see me with something nice on my wrist.

A wee bit more than $200, but I have my eye on this guy...

The Christopher Ward definitely stands out.

Absolutely gorgeous watch. Can't beat that quality for just under a grand. Highly recommend them and will probably buy something else from CW down the road.

Any reviews/opinions on this guy from someone who knows more about watches than myself?

Seiko SNDC31

I like the look but know exactly nothing about watches.

Definitely Seiko, Citizen or Orient for that price. If you bump you budget up to 200-500, they are a lot more options.

We can't have enough watch threads. I love watches but wear a Timex digital most days, ha.

That is nice. And straight up robbery of Bell&Ross style watch.

I have that Bell&Ross, and absolutely love it. Casio used to make a great knockoff, just had to slap a brown band on the one on the left).

Can I sell watches on your forum or do I need to make a bunch of posts first?

Not sure if you live close to an outlet mall, but I got my seiko at a seiko outlet store 5 years ago and it still looks awesome

Literally every watch in the store is under $150

The SKX is a wonderful choice and is built like a tank. Great value and a true diver for the price. I would also recommend anything from Wenger or Victorinox.

I own both of these watches and they are great. Victorinox Maverick on top and Wenger Commando on bottom. I paid about $200 for the Maverick on EBay ($495 retail) and about $140 for the Wenger. Both are Quartz but are very high quality and made in Switzerland.

Another great choice is the Seiko SND253

I have this watch on a Black/Grey (Bond) nato strap and I love it. Similar look as the Omega Speedmaster and at only $110 on Amazon it is about $6500 cheaper

SKX 007 is the best watch in this price category IMO. Unless you don't want a diver.

I have several seikos and they are all top quality for the money.

I currently have my eye on an Omega Speedmaster, tried it on yesterday...i'm smitten

On leather, or are you thinking of wearing it on a bracelet?

NATO would be safer, but I think a matte leather band on a deployant clasp is how I would roll most of the time with that piece.

I save my nicest leather band for special occasions, but I'm looking for an intermediate quality one to put the Stowa logo clasp I bought with the watch. The soft leather they line nice watch bands with feel better than NATOs, but the look of NATOs are far more unique and usually that's how I roll.
