Yep....hit it pin high with a wicked slice. So much spin it hit a jump 90° right in the hole. Rather be lucky than good.

I've had two
1st one was when I was in 8th grade. 200 yard par 3, hole # 10 at Ft.Myers Country Club. 3 iron 200 yards, lucky bounce right and rolled in
2nd one was number 10 at LSU a couple of years ago. It was playing around 170. 7 iron bounced once, hit the flag stick and dropped

played golf at a high level for many years, being playing on courses since I was 4
did not get my first and only hole in one until I was 28
Ormond, hole 16, 176 yards, 8 iron, ball wedged between the pin and the lip of the hole...driving up in the cart I asked my dad how close he thought it was, he says he thought it was about a foot, I said I think it is a little closer...then the ball dropped from sight. Glad my dad was there for that too as he basically supplemented my entire junior golf career for about 14 years
tried to buy drinks but they wouldnt let me and someone else bought the first round on my behalf

I played competitively for most of my younger years and never had a hole in one. So of course, my one and only hole in one came while I was drunk with a bunch of groomsman before a wedding. At the wedding I had a bunch of random people come up and call me Mr. Hole in One.
9I
#13 at Lady Bird Johnson in Fredericksburg, TX
160yds
Head pro comped our drinks after the round.

My Dad hit one about the fifth time he played golf. Pure luck at Pine Hills Country Club in Mississippi, #7 par 3 hit it with a damn 5 wood. The tournament had a closest to the hole competition going on too, he sauntered up to the green and dropped the stake right in the cup. Never played again.

8 iron
#7 Duck Creek, Garland TX
128 yards
It was against a strong wind but I hit it a little thin. Landed on the fringe and rolled in with speed. Dad kept the ball and had a little trophy made.
He's had 2 in 5 years, after playing golf for 50 years without any.

I was playing with my Dad, his ball landed in the cup, bounced out, and went off the green. We were in dis-belief.

5 Iron
#12 Big Met Golf Course
204 yards
I was only 17, no drinks.
I did get a nice Oscar Mayer weiner putter and a trophy with a plaque stating all the above information, pretty cool.

#13 at The Island last summer. 8 iron 145 yds with a slight headwind. Ball hit about 18in behind cup and backed right up into the hole.
I play in a game on Fridays. This Friday we had around 15 players. We were the first group so when I got into the clubhouse I gave the waitress my card and said to charge the drinks to me. After all bets were settled I went to close tab and it was $9. I know it should of been much higher than that. Tipped the waitress $9 and called it a day.

Never had one myself, but have witnessed four over the years in foursomes I've been playing.

First - 9-Iron from 137 on #12 at Northwood CC. Spun it back into the hole. Made during the money game so the bar tab was twice what I won in skins & bets.
Second - 9-iron from 131 on #17 at Shreveport CC during a fund raising tournament. Won two plane tickets on AA. This was when SCC had bent grass and my ball crushed the front of the hole. No drinks as the tournament had an open bar. Got off cheap.
Witnessed double digit HIOs my 35 years of playing golf.
Best - watched a guy I knew from HS Golf hole out a driver on No.1 at Northwood CC during the annual 3-man scramble. Its' a par 4.
Wildest was during college at UNO's tournament at Eastover CC (when it was one course) - Watched a guy in front of me make a one the first Par 3 on back (I think #12). My group plays and I hit the stick and have a tap-in for birdie. Standing on the next tee waiting again, we watched group behind us and the teammate of the first HIO fricking one-hops in. Their golf coach was on the tee box and he went nuts.

Had a couple, one was pretty fun though. In a skins group with 2 groups. We watched one of the guys on the 14th make a long chip shot over a bunker for a birdie. He walked to the next tee feeling pretty good, for a minute. Then I holed out from about 150 yds. Hee hee.

Skulled a PW on a 124 yard hole. It bounced about eighty times, rolled up onto the green, and nestled into the cup. My buddies were PISSED. Because they whined for the rest of the round (this was on the 4th hole), they bought their own damned drinks.

Drinks after for the group on you? They weren't serving drinks yet at the course, bought a round down the street for my group.

Old 2nd Hole - LSU Golf course (while in college) probably 15 years ago
187 yards into the wind
5 wood
Worst shot of my life. I was trying to hit a knockdown shot, but skulled it about head high. It finally hit ground in the rough just in front of the green and somehow the ball released onto the green and disappeared. We were all looking behind the green and couldn't find it. Then one buddy decided to check the cup "just in case", and there it was...
May or may not have gone back that night and grabbed the pin.
