That was one that bothered me as well that nobody seems concerned about. West Virginia finished ahead of them in the regular season and then beat them in the tourney. The rest of their resumes are absolutely close enough for those 2 factors to be decisive. Then again, Oklahoma went 2-1 against West Virginia.

I personally feel that if you finish higher than someone in your conference and go farther in the tournament, they should not even be allowed to be a better seed than you.

On a slightly related but also separate thought, The committee plays ratings, protects stars, and projects match ups and anyone who disagrees with that can suck my balls

Playing in nyc and then possibly philly is nice. We will have a lot of fans in both. Especially if we make it to philly

Put the two resumes next to each other, OU's is better. It's that simple

Well that's kind of dumb considering there are games outside of the conference.
Better overall résumé and 2-1 against them this season. So you can't sit there and act like that's really that surprising.

To select all future ncaa tournaments each conference should select one rotating coach representative every year to serve on committee.
Let the coaches select the teams.
It's quite apparent the committee has no clue.

I would've said Yale over Baylor but I just saw that thread on the team captain being held out of the tournament. It's gotta be chattanooga indiana, think maryland will win and purdue

Well I think I'm gonna get screwed by picking all 5 seeds to win the first game . The 6 vs 11s/7 vs 10s I have a lot more reservations about

Oklahoma went 2-1 against WVU. Oklahoma had a higher RPI. Oklahoma had a higher SOS. Oklahoma had more top 50 wins. Oklahoma had more top 100 wins.

I don't see any way how WVU would be ahead of OU.

Because they were the 2 seed in the Big XII

So the only thing WVU has over Oklahoma is finishing a game better in the conference schedule.

Oklahoma finished with one less loss on the season against a tougher schedule.

That and they finished higher than OU in the Big XII tourney also.

I have a problem with teams being seeded higher in a national tournament than they were in a conference tournament.

UVa was a 2
Duke was a 5
OU was a 3

I think this committe did a bad job in seeding and did a bad job in letting teams in that should not be in.

We had this discussion last year with Duke and UVa also, when people were claiming they were going to be a 1 yet did not win the ACCT or regular season.

so what is the great MSB brain trust thinking about possible upsets. iona over iowa state, UNI over texas, and little rock over purdue seem like some possibilities

I like Purdue a lot. I actually like all the 5 seeds as someone said above. I'm sure one will lose but it's not easy to call

I mean that's just a product of being in good conferences for all of those teams.

I agree, though, that Duke shouldn't have been a 4 seed. Indiana should have been a 4 over them.

they just seem like the most likely 5 to lose even if one didnt lose last year

So in a national tournament where there are more quality teams how can you be seeded higher than your regular season finish, assuming you did not win your tournament. That is the only exemption I make.

Again this is just my view on this not saying it is right or wrong.
