Dumb post
Dude played in the NBA for over a decade, was an All Star and has a career average of 13 points a game (some seasons he averaged 18 a game)

I mean I get it, but when you weren't even drafter #1 overall, you can't really compare to others that have been mentioned in this thread.
It isn't like he was a high schooler who went #2, this was a guy who everyone saw for 3 years and the Texans still decided Mario Williams was a more important piece.
I don't think you quite remember all the hype that he was getting 24/7 on ESPN. They might as well have renamed their station ESCN for a good 2-3 years. They had already put Reggie in the Hall before he even declared for the draft, every high school running back after his freshman season was being compared to him for the next 5 seasons.
Yeah I get that ESPN hyped up Freddy Adu as the next big thing in soccer, but that hype was nowhere near what Bush had. I remember people openly laughing at and mocking the Texans when they picked Mario. Hell some were even doing it a year or two latter. Then reality sunk in.

Reggie Bush's NFL career has been...well, what do we really make of it?
Arguably the most hyped, decorated and purely scintillating college running back of the 21st century, Mr. Bush spent two years as one of the most famous football players on Planet Earth while he scorched defenses at the storied University of Southern California.
Although Bush never reached the astronomical expectations the masses set for him in the NFL, he's enjoyed a long, productive career on three teams ... and he owns a Super Bowl ring.

Reggie was suppose to change football and be a slam dunk hall of famer. 10 years later and Brian Westbrook had a more productive career than he did.

Reggie Bush had a very good NFL career and was an important piece to a Super Bowl team. Calling him a failure is beyond dumb.

I cannot believe nobody has mentioned Sebastian Telfair...

Ricky Williams?
Had the 14th best NFL rushing season of all-time, 1,853 yards, and that was on a team that couldn't pass to save its life, so everyone knew Ricky would get the ball.

I remember all the hype about Ron Powlus, everyone was just raving about the guy. Beano Cook even said he would win 2 heismans. He just turned out to be an average QB at ND.
