Van Poppel stuck around the majors for a few years.
Yankees took Brien Taylor 1st overall was can't miss and was supposed to be the next great lefty.
You could say Mark Prior, who also was the Yankees first pick once.

Dude was going to single-handedly elevate US soccer and I remember seeing a bit on Sportscenter a few years later with one of his coaches saying they were trying to teach him which direction to run on offense
