Does YouTube red allow you to close out the YouTube app and still listen to whatever you're playing? If so, I'm in.

Does ad free not work on the iOS youtube app?
Yes it does. My fiance has an iPhone and she doesn't get ads. Make sure you are signed in with the correct account. It will say "YouTube Red" at the home screen of the app instead of just "YouTube"

Boo.
I have the family plan and Google Music is worth it just for Red.

Can anyone update me on why Red is worthwhile?
I have spotify and google music, so if I can stream anything I want, what do I get out of red? Just ad-free YouTube videos?

Are you sure you can send to yourself?
It worked for me this morning.
ETA: and the prices did jump. Guess they sold more than they intended hahaha

maybe you could just stack the 1 month subscriptions for $4.99??
eta: apparently the initial offer was a screwup but google will still honor those who already purchased
i knew that deal was too good to be true

I was just about to load up when they increased the price.
So I bought 20 of the 1-month subscriptions instead.

I'm signed in with the same account on both but for some reason I'm still getting ads. When I log in with my email it gives me the choice of using youtube with my real name or the name I created for youtube but both have ads.

are you signed into your GOOGLE email account that the upgrade is associated with?
are you using the YOUTUBE RED app or just the regular one?
i dont think you can just sign onto youtube with that account; the phone itself has to be associated with your main google.

The Google account signed into youtube and gmail on my phone is the same account that has All Access. My phone and my computer are the two devices associated with my Google account. I don't see a Youtube Red app in the App Store.
ETA: I deleted and reinstalled Youtube and signed into my account again and the ads are still there. I don't seem to be getting ads on my computer when using the same Google account.

Youtube Red app in the App Store.
I wish I could help man. Mine instantly turned into YouTube Red when I purchased Google Music.
Try this:
1. Open the YouTube app on your phone or tablet.
2. Go to Account .
3. Scroll down and tap YouTube Red.

Same here.
I'm loving it just for the background play. So much content is most conveniently accessed via youtube, but I want to just listen to it and multi-task. Not just music, either. It's hard to say it's worth the price alone (but $5/mo. is pretty good). I'll have to migrate away from spotify and pandora to make better use of my subscription. What else should I do? There's cloud storage for your local music library too, right? Is that unlimited?
I had about $40 in Google play credit. I just realized Google has been light on the opinion rewards surveys lately. I earned close to $45 in a year from them, but now I'm only getting like 3 or 4 surveys a month. I loved watching that money accumulate.

Technically it isn't unlimited but at 50,000 songs it's unlimited for most people.
Posted on 2/12/16 at 4:42 pm to Phate
I don't think I've listened to 50,000 songs in my lifetime.

I'm kind of confused. this is what I'm seeing. So stack a bunch of 1-month subscriptions?
