Is it necessary to push the envelope with Bachelor parties?

I've never understood this primitive bachelor party ritual of engaging in as many vices as possible before you get married. I have always believed anything worth clinging to that hard isn't worth leaving behind. Just be single. Do yourself and her a favor. One day and the exchanging of vows isn't going to change your true nature and proclivities.

If by push the envelope, you mean stuff it with cash and push it up a strippers butt, then yes.

Bachelor party should be whatever the groom wants. Not everyone else.

Neither fun nor necessary. I did not have a bachelor party, saw no point.

Necessary? No. Usually depends on the age and sophistication of the attendees tho. trashy, immature people tend to want to outdo the movies. Others, not so much.

Yeah, I feel the same way about vacations. Why try to do as many things as possible before you return home. Just do yourself a favor and stay home!

Pretty much agree, but then I don't think most people have any idea what being married actually entails. It's "the next thing" they are supposed to do in their life so they move forward one step. See: Having Babies and people who clearly should not be parents.

Personally, I didn't even have one. Just hung out with my best friend at the time who was my best man.

Married 20 years this January...

Just fricking own it and admit you sucked dick at planning your best friend's party and have no drug/slut/whore/club/beach house connections.

Do you have to ask your wife for permission to leave the house? Or does she just go with you everywhere?

Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.

My brother wouldn't allow me to plan a Vegas or destination bachelor party. He insisted on just going to dinner and then going out on Bourbon St. He ended up leaving to go find his now wife. Worst party ever.

You've started a lot of bad threads today. Maybe you should step away from the keyboard.

Eh, just got drunk in Panama for 3 days for mine. Jet Skis, ate at a decent steak joint, etc. No strippers.

My brothers however? Spent 6 hours in the VIP in a strip club. The other time in a casino.

Different strokes for different folks.

Whatever the groom wants. Not your place to try and change it or analyze their ability to stay married or whatever. Go, have fun and do what the groom wants.
