Tragic/Depressing News Story of the Day
Gets out at 19.
WTF
I'm sure they thought he was a fantastic child.

An 11-year-old boy has been sentenced to spend the rest of his childhood in custody after he was found guilty of the murder of an 8-year-old girl.
Gets out at 19.

McKayla, a student at White Pine Elementary, was killed Oct. 3, 2015 outside her home. The boy was playing with McKayla and her friend when he sent her to get her puppies.
After she said no, authorities say he went inside and shot her from his window with a shotgun.
WTF
quote:
“The mother of the child knelt on the ground and picked her child up, placing her child in her arms as she passed away,” wrote the presiding judge in a court order.
quote:
After the shooting, the boy’s great-grandparents claimed another child shot McKayla, but, according to the court order, the boy actually threw the gun out the window to another child who picked it up. That child then reportedly attempted to hand it back to the boy before setting it down on the ground.
The judge concluded his order by stating the boy is in “desperate need of help,” and our society has a great need for him to receive it.
The boy’s grandmother’s told WATE they plan on appealing the ruling.
I'm sure they thought he was a fantastic child.

This is what happens when you keep your guns in places kids who barely have a concept of life and death can get to them.

Sad as hell.
Its been all over the news up here. frick that little piece of shite. It would have took every ounce of restraint in me not to return the favor on him if I was that little girls father. I don't give a shite if he was 11. You're 11, not 3, you know the end result of pulling the trigger on a loaded shotgun and aiming at another human being.

Why? I really don't understand that part. Kid is irreparably fricked up. He should never see the free world again.

Well that sucks. Juvenile criminal justice for serious crimes is always tough.

Even if the kid wasn't "fricked up" but a stupid child, he sure will be when he gets out of being instituonalized.
I don't even know where you begin with these situations.

This is what happens when parents don't raise their frickin children and teach them right and wrong.

Something's missing from this thread. I can't quite put my finger on what it is...

Grandparents should be executed on this case.

Do you need to know the race of either of the kids involved? Is that what you're hinting at?
No need to race bait in here. Go back to sucking on the Poli board

11 year olds are old enough to know not to fricking shoot someone.
That being said, shitty parenting is to blame here also when a kid has access to an operating firearm he can use.

I don't know race of the ones involved. I am guessing white. Don't know what difference it makes when its an 11 and 8 yr old involved...but he was wondering why no one had said TPOS or something.

Sounds like the boy is in need of a short rope and a high branch.

Then why fricking bother? If the point of prison is rehabilitation, then life in prison shouldn't exist.
If you are in jail for a minor enough offense, then the object of your time in prison should be to train you with marketable skills and striving to make you a productive member of society once you've been rehabilitated.
If rehabilitation isn't an option then for everyone's benefit you should be hanged from the neck until dead and no more money spent on you.
It's ludicrous otherwise. Why rehabilitate people who won't ever be free?

The parents of the boy should be charged. They were even home with him at the time.

I want to know who down voted this. The kid was 11. I hit puberty at that age. He knows the ramifications of shooting someone with a shotgun. I'd say there's almost a 99% certainty that he will kill again if he's let out of prison. He should rot for the safety of the public at the very least.
