One thing that everyone raves about when you talk WDW that I just can't get into is Dole Whip. I've tried just stand alone and the Dole Whip float at Aloha Isle. I just don't get the allure. Now the Plaza Sundae is something I can get behind.

Going to stay on the monorail for the first time this next trip. Bay lake towers. It's what I'm most excited about. Plan is to get a MK view. But I wouldn't hate the lake view if it comes to it.

Yeah but if you are the type that hates taking the same vacations every year.....wouldn't it actually make more sense to take your kid.....when they are old enough to remember going? Then they can't claim they went but didn't remember.
I'm just not the type to want to go to the same vacation spot every year, not even if I had a child. There are just too many other awesome things to see in this country(and world when the kid was old enough). Different strokes though....: cheers:

Those are the ones next to the Contemporary correct? I've had friends stay there and they were nice from what I understand.

Went to the Floridian for the first time to eat at 1900 Park Fare this time and wow. If I had the disposable income that would 100% be where I laid my head at night. Next year I'm going to look into renting someone's DVC points to get into a Deluxe.

I'm in DVC. Own at Bay Lake and Saratoga.

Can we get some reviews of some other new and exciting things here on the OT?
Maybe someone could review Buffalo Wild Wings, or an LSU game at Tiger Stadium. A review of Bourbon Street on Saturday night might be really interesting to everyone here also-the possibilities are endless!

I haven't eaten at BWW in atleast 6 years now. No reason to eat at a chain in today's day and age. I've completely quit LSU Athletics so can't do that. Bourbon Street I could potentially do that one. Will get back to you if that happens.

For some reason I always pegged you as being very old like 60's or 70's.

Moslems-I'm not sure if it was just a bad week for them being there, but it takes away from the Disney experience having to be constantly on guard with them around.
There's the OWSA we love.

Theres not much they wont remember at 3 that they will remember at 4. My daughter remembers things from trips she took at 2.
Disney specialzes in family vacations and trips for young children, if you don't want to take them there because they won't remember it isn't any different than any other vacation. The real reason is the parents don't want to go (which is fine), so they use the " ______ won't remember" excuse.

You can't start a thread praising Disney and then act too uppity to eat at a chain restaurant in that same thread
Disney people are the chain restaurant people of vacations

We also did a monorail pub crawl one evening. Had a great time.

This last time we were there at the tail end of the Food and Wine Festival. I would like to go just the wife and I for a week.

I really enjoyed how the OP read like a regular review on yelp or something and then hits you with the...

My own personal thoughts of Hell. I MSU go when my boys are older but I will be dammed if I would even try it with infants.
I have a 4 and 6 but won't condider until two more years. If the wife demands it, I'll encourage a trip with others.

Things like this thread are my monthly reminders of just how different we all are. I'd rather wax my nuts using crazy glue and Everclear for aftershave than go to Disney World.
So the trip was for you and the mrs not the kids? Grown adults liking Disney is beyond my wildest imagination.

Disney can be enjoyed multiple ways. It has never been just for kids. My parents have gone solo and enjoyed it. And one of my favorite trips has been just me and my wife (then girlfriend). It was when we ran our first marathons.
And we have done other trips... Often. New York. Maine (twice). London (twice). Napa. Paris. Rome. Florence. Amalfi Coast. Phoenix. Smokey Mountains (more than I can count).
Next year, we're going back to Disney. But we also have three other trips scheduled: wedding in Kansas, anniversary in Oregon, marathon in Hawaii.
Point being, Disney is never our only destination; it doesn't prevent us from doing other things. We love it for the variety of experiences we can get in one place.

I just got back from a week there yesterday (Orlando to sport in 14 hrs). We stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside and it was OK but I'm stuck up I guess. . I have been a few times during my life. Parents always took us a bunch, honeymooned there and have been 3 times since I've been married and stayed everywhere from the off site holiday inn to the contemporary. The past 2 trips (2006, 2014) I stayed at the Polynesian and the contemporary. Till this day, I don't think any resort there compares to the Polynesian. The pools at all the other resorts do not hold a candle next to theirs. The restaurants are exceptional and the rooms are nice and spacious.
Being on the monorail line is a blessing also. I do t think you really realize it until you stay there and then do the bus it hotels again. It's an awesome perk of staying at one of the 3.
If you plan it out right, you don't have to wait for much. In the week I was there, I didn't wait on a single ride due to fast passing and getting there early. It was a great time but an arse load of walking
