pretty cool, I could definitely live in a tiny house if I was a bachelor
I don't like all the wood, nor the metal in the shower
and no way would I ever pay $30k for that

This was my only gripe. That corrugated steel is going to get pretty nasty pretty quickly, it would seem.

I couldn't live in one of those. A big dump stinking up the entire house is something I just can't handle.

$237/SQFT. I can build for $100/SQFT in Houston.

Why not spend $30K on a mobile home that is 1120 sq ft. Doesn't make sense.

Because in our society...tiny house living=hipster, cool person
and Mobile home living=trailer trash

because then you can't live in your parents backyard in the city or get $200/night on airbnb

These things are basically travel trailers

Definitely a used 5th wheel. The nicer ones i was looking at the other weekend were closer to $80-100k.
The thing i find hilarious about the tiny house movement is that the mobile ones take a big arse truck to move them. Most of the hippies on tv buying them have no way to move them

I'd rather just buy a camper. More mobile.

Also, I never considered Tiny homes to be "hipster". But then again, everything different is considered hipster nowadays.

But no way in hell could I live in one on a permanent basis(I'm wayyyyy too claustrophobic). Only way I could do it is for a vacation in some really cool location where I would spend most of my time away from the tiny house. I would love to see an update on couples/families that have lived in them for at least a year. Can you imagine how easily annoyed you would get if you had to live in one of those with another person(s)

It was a joke. I watched a tiny house hunters marathon on HGTV. And yes, the tiny homes do have more style to them. I think they are cool in their own way.

It doesn't seem like the perfect vacation home. But I don't know if I could live with someone (plus animals) for a long period of time.

Hard to understand why they cost so much per sq ft. Top of the line slide in camper is less.
You could get a toy hauler, and if you drive a small car, could park it inside every night, just rent a truck to move it around when you move.
The unknown - to me - is whether you have a trailer or a tiny house, how much is it going to cost to park it, plug in exterior power, water, and so forth, each month?
