His free agency will be fascinating, don't think he will be back in Miami.

Me neither. But can't wait to see how it plays out. Somebody is going to give him huge money, but he should take what Riley offers until he gets a few more solid seasons under his belt.

Did you catch the last block tonight? He jumped up in the lane and just palmed it out of the air.

Al Horford is averaging 6 reb per game. Id be more worried about that than assists.

Whiteside can put up 10/10/10 in 27 minutes, thats pretty special

the interesting thing about whiteside is that his team is better without him

and horford averages 7 rebounds a game no need to lie

Yep, and the sample size on that keeps growing.

And there have been articles pointing out legit reasons for this as more than a fluke. Great shot blocker, not a great defensive player.

He's also a black hole offensively and a turnover machine.

There aren't exactly many great centers these days so he's certainly in the mix, but I think the Heat will be smart enough to not offer him nearly as much as some team who isn't a contender will.

He is who he is, I don't see him fixing the issues he has. He'll continue to put up gaudy numbers from time to time and depending where he goes, he'll likely do more dumb stuff than we've seen in Miami.

how is someone that makes 60% of his shots a black hole on offense?

Roommate last year was from Miami and a big Heat fan. Told me to pick up Whiteside in fantasy when he first broke into the rotation. He was averaging a point and/or rebound per minute for like 2 weeks straight it seemed.

He'd play like 20 mins a game at first and would average like 15/10/3 blocks when he first started playing.

In only his 12th game of the season (that he played more than ~5 mins) he got a triple double with 12 blocks in 24 mins.

15 assists vs 88 turnovers.

Most of his scores are on putbacks or easy dunks. I'm not knocking that part. But when he touches the ball in the flow of the offense, the other 4 Heat players may as well turn and run down court for transition defense because he's not passing the ball. Not to mention as it's been well talked about by Miami sports media...he's lazy on offense, always out of position and sets lazy screens. Those are some of the reasons Bosh and Wade seem to not like him at all.

Then separately from offense, the team still performs better defensively when he's off the court.

He's obviously a great shot blocker. But he seems to only care about the number of blocks he gets and more often than not is completely out position, leaving his man to try and get another block on the stat sheet.

He's the anti-Tim Duncan on defense.
