The Disney doods will run this into the ground until we hate Star Wars. It's what they do best. Beats being creative.

What about instead of them being a child of Luke, they are actually one of Leia and Han's children?

I said that in the other thread. I can't see Luke having kids. More likely that Leia and Han had kids that can use the force

I could dig it, but I'd prefer it be a bastard, they're all the rage these days with Game of Thrones and the Bastard Executioner. What if it was Leah and Chewie's bastard?

You know how weird it would be to try to frick while the ghosts of your dad, Yoda, and Obi Wan are watching?

well, all Obi Wan ever says is "use the force, Luke" so that advice may actually be helpful if well timed.

I posted this before the trailer in the last thread, but I only have minor adjustments in it:

The Force Awakens is actually a mass empowering event to bring back balance to the Force, since almost all people who were Force Conscious were hunted down and killed by the Emperor and the Empire. Luke and Leia were only spared because Obi Wan and Yoda were actively blocking the Emperor and Vader from finding them. Now there may be a few dozen Force Conscious people in the galaxy, so the Force consciously empowers itself to awaken thousands of others to be able to perceive the Force.

Both Rey and Finn have just become Force Conscious through the Force awakening. The First Order then actively goes out and tries to capture and/or kill anyone they can find who has newly been made Force Conscious, and Finn is almost killed by his own troops because the First Order detects it. Rey saves him from certain death.

Meanwhile I think Kylo Ren also wasn't Force Conscious until the Awakening, but he was obessed with it before hand, was as badass as Boba Fett, and knew its ways long beforehand. Now, he's easily the most formidable warrior in the Galaxy and is after anyone who is Force Conscious.

Meanwhile, Snoke is using the Force's new formidability to build a new Super Weapon that actively utilizes the Dark Side of the Force to be able to destroy anything anywhere in the Galaxy, including stars.

That's my best guess to the plot at least.

I could see that happening. I really haven't read much about this movie at all but wasn't Mark Hamill supposed to have a smaller role than Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford?

I'm thinking Mark Hamill will come in at the end and have a huge role in the next one, only to be killed by Ren.

Luke is the sith lord under the helmet......very obvious. That is why we never see his face in the trailers

He's played by Adam Driver. Ren is not Luke, especially all the crap he did converting Vader to the light.

What if Kylo Ren is Rey's brother?

It looks like the whole galaxy is in shambles following Jedi. No one has bothered to pick up the garbage or wrecked spaceships?

I say Luke has a bigger role than many of us think, and that he continues that role through some of the future movies.

That definitely fits the "force awakening"

I think most people knew about the Jedi as far as they were badass warriors who helped control the Galaxy. I think most people think the force is a myth and somehow will be shown its real. I also think people don't necessarily see the Jedi as heroes, and Luke may even be seen as a criminal because he became the fall guy somehow for the war. Most people don't realize the syth were controlling the empire and don't see them as all bad

I don't think Vader will be cloned. That's too easy, too scientific. Ren will be one of the most powerful Jedi/Siths we have ever seen or at least bring about one of the most powerful Jedi/Siths we have ever seen, and his only goal is to bring back Vader to fulfill his duty.

In the books (which I know are not canon) Kyp Durron is turned by a Sith Ghost on Yavin. Perhaps Ren happens the same?

Also, did you catch Han saying "Its all true. The Jedi, the Force". Could the Empire have completely rewritten the history books to omit the Force in 30 years? Perhaps the Rebellion after the victory at Endor didn't want the Jedi to be a part of the new government given their past, so they outcast them as through they didn't exist. Thats pretty messed up.

Also, I'm interested to see how they play Leia. She's Lukes sister, so she's force sensitive. In the books (which I know are not canon) she basically eschews any force training partially out of her guilt/embarrassment for being related to Vader. I wonder is she's a Jedi in this canon?

Dose X-Wings, doe.

Okay, Nerdgasm over.

One more thing: Am I a bad fan that I'm more excited to see Mark Hammill as Joker in the DC Animation adaptation of The Killing Joke than I am as Luke in Star Wars?

Instead of "These are not the droids you're looking for" we get "you will be consenting to anal"
