Who Should Have Played Anakin in Return of the Jedi?

In Episode III, Anakin is 20 years old. Episode IV takes place 18 years later. Are you supposed to believe this guy is 38?
That isn't the only age blunder in the prequels. In 20 years Beru goes from this to this.
What actor in the early 80s who fit the proper age range would you have cast?

Anakin should have been 35 in the prequels anyway.

I can believe that guy is a 38 year old severe burn victim that never sees sunlight and is encased in a helmet for 18 years

She didn't use her sun screen mayne. That shite will get you on a planet w/two suns.

You have more of a point with Beru, as the severe burning you expect from Anakin means you can almost excuse any age actor.
And it is nearly ten years longer in timeline when we see the face you posted FWIW

There are 10 years between A New Hope and Return of the Jedi?

If only the people doing the casting in the late 70's and 80's had the forethought to cast so they can make movies 30 years later.

No, but he makes small errors in his explaination before. Anakin isn't 20 in return of the Sith for instance.
Those errors add up, and you get him being 4 years older by the time of ANH. Take into account the time from ANH to RotJ and you get another 4 years.

Lucas really fricked up the prequels

Lucas really fricked up everything except for Star Wars and Empire.

He didn't direct Empire did he? Maybe that's why it was the best one.

Actually Ep I is 10 years before II and III, so it is 30 years for Beru, which puts her in her50's fwiw.

Beru wasn't in Episode I though.

Oh, that's right its Ep II
Those movies are so bad and totally contradict what was said about the past in the first 3

Christian Bale.
Well, I think they screwed up the timeline. Alec Guinness and Ewen McGregor both played Obi-Wan Kenobi. Guinness was 62 years old when they filmed the first Star Wars while McGregor was 33 years old when Episode III came out. That's a 29 year age gap. So if there was about a 30 year gap between Episode III and IV, Darth Vader would be around 50 years old at the time of Episode IV which would have made a lot more sense.
